I didn't really sense that, personally. Sometimes guys and girls bicker because they genuinely can't stand one another, not because they secretly want to bone each other.  Hollywood *does* tend to rely on that sort of trope pretty heavily, but it usually doesn't do much for me (as I tend to blame lazy/inept writing for an inability to write an interesting, real relationship and relying on "tension" instead).

This is my take on it as well.  They genuinely dislike each other a great deal, and I just never saw any sexual tension between them even hinted at.  Takin gthe idea that they argue a lot as prof that they obviously are attracted to each other seems fairly far-fetched to me since they never even jokingly suggested they found each other attractive, to my knowledge.

Since it's a fantasy world, I don't think the devs are particularly
bothered by the literal meanings and the ascetics of the names.

Since it's a Bioware fantasy world, I think you're probably wrong.

I sensed a sexual tension between Wynn and Oghren, but not with Morrigan and Alistair, lol xD

This!  And Zevran and Wynne.  I was like just get in the tent and get it over with already (then tell us just how magical her boosom really is)!

I've read some thoughts and ideas on Alistair and Morrigan possibly being half brother and sister and it's interesting food for thought, whether or it's true or not.  I do think they went back and forth like brother and sister almost, I even remember saying that out loud a few times to myself when they started in on eachother.  As for sexual tension, I never got anything like that between them.  Heck, Morrigan had kinder words for Dog than for Alistair.

I probably am, but it is just a theory, and there are similarities between the characters and how the name is spelled and pronounced in the main language of the developers, but since you seem to be only quoting the part of my posts that regard the origin of the name, I'm guessing you don't care about the theory I was proposing anyway so nevermind.

Alistair did stare at Morrigan's nose for quite some time... although admittedly it was to set her up later on.

I enjoyed their bickering but I agree that I did not feel any sense of attraction between the two.

I always thought Morrigan was closer to The Morrigan of Irish mythology than Morgan Le Fay. Also, I sensed 0 sexual tension between the two. I think it's fair that when you get a group of people together, some just aren't going to like others. Morrigan shows more compassion towards Dog than to Alistair.

Morrigan and Alistair remind me of 2 friends of mine from high school. And they really honestly disliked each other. I used to get it from both of them as to how I could possibly be friends with the other....used to drive me crazy...heh.

For Morrigan the sexual tension is between her and the dog

Actually I think the dog is hitting it with all the female characters and sten They just can't seem to say no to him.

I totally would have pursued a romantic relationship with Sten, had it been an option.  I think *he* would have been the one needing armor to bite down on, though :P

If you chat up Alistair as a male, he will admit that Morrigan is beautiful (but eeeeevil!).

If you chat up Morrigan as a female, she will say that she assumes Alistair is astonishing in bed.

Oh, and they sleep together in the ending, let's not forget that.

I've heard Sting is astonishing in bed.. doesn't mean I want to actually sleep with him.

Hmmm I don't remember Alistair saying anything like that?  Perhaps it's because I played as a female and we weren't comparing the relative charms of the ladies, though :P  I didn't even really talk to Morrigan or have her in my party, so no idea what she says about anything at all really.

In my ending it was Morrigan and Loghain that slept together :D

He does sleep with her.

Don't get me wrong, they really do genuinely dislike one another a great deal, but this isn't a thread about rather or not they'd like to move in together.  It's a thread about rather or not they'd ****, and the answer is clearly "yes."

they pretty much just hate each other maybe cuz one is a templar and other a mage and u saw how templars and mages treated each other at the tower

Having actually played through the mage origin (and dealing with a templars outside the tower), I found the relationship between mages and templars to be much, much more complex than you're making it out to be.  For example, I told the templar in the Chantry I was a mage, but he was still never anything but courteous towards me.

As for the actual topic?  No, so far I've seen no indication that "deep down" Morrigan and Alistair have the hots for each other.  Alistair has a conversation where he talks about your other companions, and on the subject of Morrigan he has obvious disdain, not simply because she's an apostate mage, but because he doesn't like her personality and they have very different worldviews.  Also, if he "truly wanted" Morrigan, I don't think he'd spend so much energy courting my PC.

This really does nothing to prove your point, though.  They have sex *if* the PC that Alistair loves and/or cares for persuades him to do it (and it takes a lot of persuasion, as he's repulsed by the thought of sleeping with her) and Morrigan is only willing to do it in order to conceive her demon baby she's been plotting for.  Also, as demonstrated by the fact that she'll sleep with a male PC or Loghain to achieve the same ends, it's pretty clear that there's zero emotional component to it for her (excepting a scenario where a male PC has romanced her).  I suppose to some folks any tension between a man and a woman = sexual tension, though. *shrugs*

Actually, when Morrigan says that she assumes Alistair is amazing in bed she says that she assumes he must be otherwise your PC wouldn't be interested in him at all, and if you reply with "you know we're in love, right?" she disapproves by 7 points. LOL

That's exactly my point.  There's no emotional componet to it.  It's just sexual attraction, and it's in character for both.

Morrigan has never had an emotional connection to another person, yet I doubt she's a virgin.  This is how she deals with most men, I imagine.

Alistair is too sexually crippled by his stringent religious upbringing to accept the PC into his bed before his certain that she's his soulmate, but he's still clearly attracted to her from the very first conversation.

Both of them are capable of feeling attraction without being in love.  Both of them are attractive.  I fail to see the major difficulty with them being attracted to each other.

That's rather presumptious of you.

The fact that you can convince him is pretty much proof that he's at least mildly attracted to her.

I'll have to dissagree.  Remember, the choices are simple - sleep with Morrigan, or either Alistar or the PC has to die.

You don' thave to be attracted to someone to sleep with them under these circumstances

Or he's just doing it because he thinks it will save the PC's life (a PC who might just be his beloved, on top of that).
