Is it just me, or are alot of the ME fans from overseas, and canada? I'm from North Carolina myself, and it's great that ME has a following overseas, just didn't see it as clearly as I do now.

I came to this conclusion, by almost everyone either complaining about shipping speed, game availability and language differential. Here in the states, it's beyond simple:

1. Amazon.com

2. Add "Mass Effect 3" to cart.

3. Select "Release Date Delivery for $0.99"

4. Open your front door around 12pm the day of release.

Boom.

How does it work for you overseas/canada people?

Well pretty much the same thing in Canada. I will be going at 11 am Tuesday to Game Stop to pick up my CE edition.

Well from amazon in NZ it is more like select 2-4 day shipping for $20.

Generally better to download or get from a store.

It all works the same here in Canada, except instead of opening my door I move the blocks of ice at my Igloo entrance.

I'm from Canada, but I don't know anyone who's a gamer (well, aside from the CoD bunch) let alone someone who plays Mass Effect. :/

Amazon.ca is horrible in Canada when standard free shipping is used. Your item won't be shipped until Friday and receive it the following week. I use Gamestop.ca instead and receive it on Tuesday (release day) not a week later. Maybe other Canadians have better luck but I gave up with Amazon. Tried a few times, always shipped "in stock" on Friday. Good thing I don't live in a rural town. When I contacted them their reason pretty much was that free shipping customers weren't as important and of priority as their customers who paid for overnight shipping. Fine, I can understand that. Money > Free but Friday? That's a bit much and quite disrespectful.

well im in australia and I order from Game. They send the game day before release day with the best shipping options. I've always received my copies with no problemo :)

I've had good luck with future shop and best buy and getting games on release day using the free shipping. Only if its a less popular title will it maybe be a day late. For big releases they always ship on Monday.

Amazon.ca isn't the speedies for games I agree, where the win is their unmatched customer service so if times not a factor its still a good place.

I agree with the OP. But being an aussie means the rest of the world is overseas. Even Canada.

Online retail in general seems to be such a crapshoot in Canada. I don't know why I thought ordering through EA would have been the safer option. I'll stick with brick and mortar up here from now on. -_-

I agree with you there. FutureShop & BestBuy are decent too. To be honest, I only ordered from Gamestop because they were the first ones to have the CE available when I made some other purchases, (Uncharted 3 for example.) and so far no complaints.

What about CE avail.? I have a aussie friend and he has difficulty getting the CE's from EB games, so he orders from US, takes time for customs to sort it out, but he saves money and gets the CE.

CE is avaliable at all 3 major game retailers (Game, JB and EB). EB's shipping is terrible in my experience... pick up from store is easier

really should try Game someday _-_

as for your friend though, I think it's better he / she / it gets it from the states. it's a) cheaper (dollar at parity to USA) B) more value for money (our DLC system is messed up)

Originally from Louisiana, but living in Texas now, (in the US...lol) Amazon said my CE will be here on release day. They are usually really good about that here. The truck passes around 3pmish on my street tho.

I will go meet my wife for lunch, come back, cook dinner...lol....then make a cuppa tea and wait!

Same here, so hopefully this holds true and the game will be here on wednesday instead of thursday. Which means I have one less day to get my sentinel's ME2 playthrough done so I probably shouldn't be mucking around on the forums so much.

Yeah, and he doesn't have to worry about the servers being country locked, he has a US xbox and gets most of his games from US hes always a few days behind, but he never really misses out overall, and he saves money, so its win win.

I'm from Brazil. Anymore brasileiros out there?

I bought N7 Digital Deluxe because of shipping costs. Amazon would cost a fortune to ship here. I still get 3 day delay plus download time... I hate stores around here.

If you're living in Australia and you're ok with getting a game up to 2 weeks later, importing will save you 40 to 50% which is a pretty huge deal

Bioware's headquarters is located in Canada.

Pretty obvious reason. And yes, I am Canadian.

Is mass effect not from "overseas and Canada" :P.

When the company that made the game is based outside of the us, do you really get to refer to it as "overseas". I'm being difficult for the sake of it, but the way this thread is worded does make me get all "America thinks it is still the centre of the world".

It must be so cool to see a bunch of Zamboni parked outside the Canadian GameStop at midnight.

...OP, the majority of the world is comprised of Not America. Why would you be surprised that there are many non-American fans of a Canadian developer? There isn't an iron curtain surrounding North America.

And this is the Internet. Globalism is pretty much expected.
