The British and American markers are basically the same, save for the size of the population, which obviously makes the market smaller.

It all works the same here in Canada, except instead of opening my door I move the blocks of ice at my Igloo entrance.

 Good one.

I like pancakes. I hear you guys got the GOOD STUFF for that. Since they're a Canadian company, I'm surprised a bottle of the finest maple syrup doesn't come with every ME preorder.

I am considered one of the few Mass Effect fans in the state of South Carolina.

I'm in the US. I'm just 3000 miles out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and so therefore treated as if I'm not (aka in Hawaii). Amazon's 99 cent release day shipping is not available here. If you buy online, you are 100% guaranteed to NOT get it on release day thanks to the lovely (sarcasm) thing called order processing, no matter what speed you pick or store you buy from.

The only way to get stuff faster than that is to buy local, but that means trying to hunt around for a CE + paying sales tax. So... yeah. I'd rather just wait and get my cheaper, guaranteed copy from Amazon. The downside is it means I'll probably not get the game for a whole week or week and a half after release date.

Well, being in one of the more remote parts of Canada, I do what most people do to get their video games... I go to my local EB Games.

As for a lot of fans of Mass Effect being Canadian.... Well. BioWare is in Edmonton, Alberta. Which is in Canada. Which means it's kind of destined to be enjoyed in.... Canada.

...OP, the majority of the world is comprised of Not America. Why would you be surprised that there are many non-American fans of a Canadian developer? There isn't an iron curtain surrounding North America.

And this is the Internet. Globalism is pretty much expected.

Quite a few people have effectively isolated themselves by thinking only in terms of their own country/region, and anything that brings them out of that shelter surprises them.  I blame the lack of interest in history and geography.  Not saying this is the case with the OP, only that it might be.

But yeah, I pity the foreigners who have to wait several more days to get their copy.  I'll be pissed if I don't get it until late afternoon on the 6th, largely because I've never been so pumped about a game before.

I came to this conclusion, by almost everyone either complaining about shipping speed, game availability and language differential. Here in the states, it's beyond simple:

1. Amazon.com

2. Add "Mass Effect 3" to cart.

3. Select "Release Date Delivery for $0.99"

4. Open your front door around 12pm the day of release.

Boom.

How does it work for you overseas/canada people?

It doesn't work at all. Amazon does not offer release date shipping in Canada. I'm considering cancelling my pre-order and switching to the DDE so I can play the game on launch day.

Amazon.ca is horrible in Canada when standard free shipping is used. Your item won't be shipped until Friday
and receive it the following week. I use Gamestop.ca instead and receive it on Tuesday (release day) not a week later. Maybe other Canadians have better luck but I gave up with Amazon. Tried a few times, always shipped "in stock" on Friday. Good thing I don't live in a rural town. When I contacted them their reason pretty much was that free shipping customers weren't as important and of priority as their customers who paid for overnight shipping. Fine, I can understand that. Money > Free but Friday? That's a bit much and quite disrespectful.

Huh. I've bought quite a bit from Amazon.ca over the years and they've always shipped by the next day with free shipping. Usually 4 business days for arrival to a rural area - I've had nothing but good experience with them.

OP: Buying is just as easy in Canada, as it is in the US - for me it was the EA Store, put ME3 in cart, select the only available shipping option, wait umpteen months for March 6th.

Beats fighting off the polar bears at EB's midnight launch.

Nope. You're not the last. I ducked down to EB last November (Australia btw) and paid on the spot for my CE.

Ahhhh! Peace of mind. It soothes me. (Touch wood!)

I'm from Sweden and I expect to get the physical copy of the game a few days before the European release date or on the release date itself at the very latest. That's what happened with Skyrim and Kingdoms of Amalur at least. However, it doesn't matter if I get it early because I still won't get to play it before the European release date anyway.

Well, I suppose I could install it early even though the I won't be able to play it until the set date.

Is there anyone who knows why they do that? I mean as long as the first release date has passed and I have the game I should be able to play it. Why do they make us wait for the second release date just because we're in a different region? Don't they want people to preorder?

Sorry if I'm asking an obvious noob question.

I'm from Germany, and things arw quite similar.
On release I open the bulkhead of my tank, and there it is. :o

Seriously, tho. We got Amazon here, too, and they deliver fast as well, so no real differences EXCEPT the date of release.

Amazon works fine overseas. Sure, we don't get our stuff right away, but it's reliable when it comes to delivery estimates. The problem in my country is the national postal service that is in charge of the parcel once it gets here. In other words, you better hope that you don't have any shared interest with the postal service worker that processes your order. That's how orders are "lost".

Anyways, Amazon.uk is, by far, the best when it comes to international shipping.

Ah, alas my friend, I am from Texas, part of United States. But I am originally from my mother's womb.

On a related note: I don't know how I'm going to get ME3, I just am, and it's going to be CE.

It could very well be he wrote "overseas" instead of writing out numerous countries. Let's face it -- the majority of the world is "overseas" from a North American perspective, so it'd be extremely tiresome to write out every country,

How does it work for you overseas/canada people?

It's easy.

First, you sacrifice a Human Heart™ (available at Alchemists R Us) to boot ye olde 56k modem. Once the vile chants have ceased, you should be connected to the Euronet. From there, you must navigate your mouse pointer through a network of tubes. At the center, you'll find the ghost of the Master Control Program. Ask him for the Staff of Visa (or the Blade of Mastercard, whichever you prefer.) He will offer it to you if you answer his questions (concerning obscure, artsy movies) correctly.

Then, you must make your way to the Forest of Shopkeepers. Here, you will meet the Ents. First, they will debate whether or not you are worthy to purchase their goods. Convince them that you used to be part of the community, but now you're just European. They will let you pass into their inner sanctum, where you'll gain access to the Crypt of Play(.com).

You should be fine, from there on in. If you encounter Fenrir, however... Odin be with you.

amazon.de says it delivers on the 8th. It's gonna be horrible, if I cant start playing on the same day, just because release date is supposed to be on the 9th.
What's the point of different release dates anyway? DAMN you north americans!!! ^^

My local store, cause I simply don't want to trust the shipping people in Norway to get it right.  If I had to wait one more day logner than 9th I think I would go insane.

I'm nova scotian and I just do digital downloads, I got ME3 on PSN its $10 cheaper due to their being no tax on digital items plus I don't really care about having a physical product.

I rarely do because stores in Oz charge exhorbitant amounts for games. For example, EB's ME3 'Omniblade Edition' costs $108 for consoles, $88 for PC. Cheaper to get games from overseas usually.
