( For instance, Modern Warfare 3 is a very good example of why you shouldn't trust "professional" reviews)
Yes it was not a bad game I give it 8/10.
ME3 storywise: 5
ME3 gameplaywise: 9
9+5 = 14
14/2 = 7
YOu mean MW3?
If you gave MW3 an 8/10 I see no reason ME3 shouldn't get a 10/10.
MW3 was horrible.

I haven't even played it personally and I know this would be my sentiment concerning the game.Hunter of Legends wrote...

Most people have grown up from using that phrase.

THAT sucks. I'm sure, even without playing it, that it deserves a perfect score.
I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume this is tongue-in-cheek.

True. The only thing to worry about is that they get put up on metacritic, but I usualy only check out the user reviews anyway.

Fair enough.. I've never heard it justified in that way. I always thought it's the one's applying labels that seem snobby, but I get where you're coming from.Cody211282 wrote...

Those are the wannabe hipsters. Not real ones.
Kind of like how emo DOESN'T mean people with crazy hair who cut themselves, but was twisted to mean that.

Not that I care, I already have my CE preordered. But I want more people to know how great this game is so we can get more sagas with this quality from BioWare.
No game deserves a 10/10. ME3 will probably get a 9-9.5 on most review sites the same way ME2 did.

There is no perfect scale to measure a game. Even if there was some official 'standard' to grade games, it's all opinions. Some opinions are worth more than others. Some opinions will be worth less; for example your opinion that we're morons is meaningless. Anybody who has already pre-ordered the game, isn't likely to change their mind based on any review; they've already placed a bet and laid their money down. A bad review won't get anyone a refund.hex23 wrote...
Will you morons stop saying "HURR DURR NO GAME IS PERFECT THEREFORE IT DOESN'T DESERVE PERFECT SCORES".
Perfect score =/= perfection. It means it's considered the best on whatever scale/measurement/grading system they're using.
There will be lots of reviews of this game. Some of them will be honest criticisms and tell us the flaws and some won't. I'm looking for reviews that see things different than I do, that find both good and bad. Eventually, I'll compare my opinion against others.

If I want to enjoy shooting I play COD and similar games. If I want to enjoy Roleplaying I play Bioware, Bethesda etc. games.
You don't have proper judgement.

If you really need a number to tell you if ME3 is worth a purchase, then look at multiple reviews. Why even bother coming to this forum if you are unsure if you want ME3? Go spend your time elsewhere.

Just to let you know, OP, 9 or 9.5/10 are still great scores.
A game like Mass Effect needs serious flaws to be less than 9.0/10... lesser advertised games on the other hand don't get it so good.
And games should be rated according to other games, not some arbitrary definition of perfection. Doom in 1993 probably got 10/10 from everyone because it was just the best FPS of it's time by a large margin.
