It's so easy to get disappointed.
Personally I try never to expect too much from a game.
I set the bar at just being entertained for around 30 hours for say an fps.

It will very probably do that on the franchise's inertia alone. However to "include" myself it will have to be actually good to me as ME2 already missed the target as far as I'm concerned being part of the minority who was disapointed by many aspects of the game.

Does that mean ME 3 will be a bad - nope not at all I'm expecting to have grand'ole time come Tuesday. What it does mean is that game is going have it flaws(nothing is Perfect) and plots lines , characters story arcs etc, are going to end in a manner that one may not like. You know that tends to happen when you not the creator of the fiction that you reading, watching, playing.
I will mostly have a lot of good things say once I have finished. The trick is to have more good things to say then bad things.

Am I worried that it won't be a great game and I will have just as much fun with it as I did ME1 and ME2? Not at all.
I really couldn't care less about the cut and dry definitions of RPG and TPS. If you're going to have gunplay combat in a game, may as well make it work well. The fact that people are ****ing and whining and moaning about a game BEFORE it is out and BEFORE they (very likely) have even played it, drives me nuts. I personally know a few details about the game already, but I refuse to go into the spoiler section, as I want to not be swayed with words of indignation towards the endings of the series.
Monday night cannot come soon enough. ME3 IS 4 DAYS AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think I will be disappointed. Perhaps I am easily pleased, I mean I have enjoyed every game that Bioware has made, even DA2 (despite some issues it had). Bioware's games are interesting, rich in lore and immersive and this is shaping up to be epic!

However, you have to see Bioware is going a different direction now. So it is natural that many fans from their former work are annoyed at the fact, that they are pretty much losing a developer that makes games they like.

Well as far as the haters go. I think the problem stems at viewing Mass Effect 3's ending in a vacuum, instead of viewing the entirety of Mass Effect 3 the game as an ending to the larger Mass Effect story.
By the time you play the ending cuteness, you've already determined so many different story endings for so many different occurrence arcs that the core ending of the actual game doesn't matter all that much. In the end, all your determining is the final twist in the tale already told.
That's pretty good story writing, honestly.
I don't think Mass Effect 3 will do badly at all. It's ending will be the subject of argument for years to come, for sure. But it won't take away form the game on the level some of the forum users want to imply. (They are trying to relate it to DA2 when there was soooo much more wrong going with that game. ME3 seems to have far, far more going right for it.)
Oh I disagree. It will destroy the game . you watch and see

The current troll board seems to be the ME3 Gameplay (Spoilers Allowed) section. I involuntarily wound up there and ever since I have been looking in, carefully sifting through topics, quite amazed at how deep the entitlement and hysteria runs.

I would prefer that people would wait for ME3 to come out before judging it simply by the endings.
I haven't watched them myself, but it seems like people really hate them.

I love ME1, Truly loved it. I didn't care for ME2 as much until Bioware fixed the portions with Liara. I'm replaying it now to have two saves to carry over.
I loved the demo! Loved it! I'm hoping for a series of endings... but primarily if Shep remains alive, no matter the outcome, I want to see him or her finally get their time with Liara. I'm a hopeless romantic. lol!

Yeah, yeah, you've read the spoilers. Noted. That'd be the end of line if storytelling actually depended solely on the script.
I really don't get why people won't wait until they've finished playing the game to pass judgement.

It seems a lot of commentary on here about other gamers is that they see someone having an issue - and think that is their view of the whole game - when people can still enjoy the game but have glaring issues.
I don't think anyone wants the game to fail - they just want it to reach for the stars in all aspects of the game.

On the opposite end of the opinion spectrum I read about the complaints for DA2 and then decided to play it for myself and it was an awesome game.
And on the other end of things entirely I played DA2 before reading any of the complaints and still thought DA2 was pretty good even after having played it and read the complaints.
Far as the OP goes, I'm ticking off the days here. Lots of games say you're there to save the world, ME will finally deliver on that process. Saving the world may not be pretty, and you may not even like what you've saved...but its definitely going to be an experience that won't soon be forgotten.

Though I admit ME2 stripped way too much away.
The Mako wasn't the best. While I didn't mind driving from point A to point B on planets like Noveria and Virmire, on the random planets it was just tedious. After a few times of driving to "Debris" or "Signal" on the map to collect random nonsense, I gave up on all that. That's not exploration. It's a time-sink to drive around to various points on a square map and drive over and around jagged cliffs on every planet.
Also, yes, they stripped out too much of a few things in ME2 like weapon and armor customization. The "RPG elements" so to speak. I'm very happy they've brought weapon customization and far more power customization into ME3. They're both far better than ME1 ever thought about being IMO. Evolving powers 3 times to customize it? Weapon mods and tons more weapons that are unique? Let's be honest, once anyone got Spectre weapons on ME1 that's all anyone used anyway because they were WAY OP.
Also to the OP, online deathmatches? Really? I see no PvP. If you want to call a co-op experience like that a deathmatch, go right ahead I guess. I disagree based on the connotation of deathmatch in today's online PvP-centric shooter game lingo. Also, while some people on BSN might agree with your "I know it will fail" outlook, the gaming public as a whole doesn't share that sentiment. Steady growth on sales from ME1 to ME2 and triple the preorders of ME2 already, ME3 is shaping up to be a juggernaut critically and financially, not a failure. And most people who play it will likely enjoy it. That last part is my own guess but the part about it not being a financial failure is just fact.

I think agter this trilogy, alot of people will be done with Bioware, they have become money grabbing and fan deceiving. They seem to have forgot about their core audience. They have gone from a great RPG developer (ME1, DAO), to a mediocre action developer (ME2, ME3, DA2). They have totally abandoned their roots and DA3 will fail miserably and after fans of Mass Effect like me have finished the trilogy i will not buy another Bioware product as i just don't like the direction they are headed. And i think Bioware will be shocked at how many people like me there will be.
