I think agter this trilogy, alot of people will be done with Bioware, they have become money grabbing and fan deceiving. They seem to have forgot about their core audience. They have gone from a great RPG developer (ME1, DAO), to a mediocre action developer (ME2, ME3, DA2). They have totally abandoned their roots and DA3 will fail miserably and after fans of Mass Effect like me have finished the trilogy i will not buy another Bioware product as i just don't like the direction they are headed. And i think Bioware will be shocked at how many people like me there will be.

It seems almost as if so many so called fans of Bioware and ME are HOPING for ME3 to fail.  Ive never before seen more whining/complaining/crying/nitpicking for a game in my life, and sometimes over the most ridiculous things imaginable.  However, Im also convinced that this incrediably loud crowd will also be an incrediably small minority.

Ive kept myself free of any major spoilers, but of what ive played and seen thus far I think I can confidently go out on a limb here and say that I will thoroughly enjoy this game from top to bottom.  I loved Mass Effect 1, Loved Mass Effect 2 just as much (though for slightly different reasons), and I have yet to feel any reason as to why ME3 wont continue that trend.

Hats off to you Bioware.  Im glad to have had the chance to experience your defining series.

You clearly have not been on the sega forums.

My personal opinion on how they handle the game should have no effect on anyone but myself. EA is a corp, yes, but it's made up of a lot of people who work hard and take pride in thier work. If I came in here and ragged on the developers, or tried to spoil it for people....well that would just be petty.

I may not like it , but I wouldn't wan't anyone not to enjoy it just because I don't.

I've heard this story a million times. Well, not really a million. But a lot. I've been around for all the BioWare games and every time a new game comes out there is a subset of forum dwellers that agonize over the direction BioWare is taking their games and predict how shocked - SHOCKED - they will be when they realize how they alienated their "core" base.

Any company's core audience is an audience that will pay them for what they produce.

You might find that the "core audience" that you're a part of is a very small group of people compared to the rest of the gaming world that end up equaling a lot more dollars than catering to a niche market.

And hey that might be cruel to say, but its the truth, sure BioWare has changed since Baldur's Gate, but I can tell you this right now, if they spent all their time catering to niche markets, they'd never make all that much money.

As betrayed as you feel now, just wait for the BG reboot. Cause it'll be a great game too, just like DA is, just like Mass Effect is, it just won't be the Baldur's Gate YOU wanted, and because they'll have made BG appeal to about 100 times the audience the original BG appealed to, they'll make a lot of money and acquaint a whole new generation with the BG IP, and you'll be sitting in your house, mad at the world, cause a game developer that used to make niche games stopped making niche games to appeal to the mass market.

In final, BioWare isn't the one with the problem here. Its the niche market players that refuse to adapt to the idea that game companies can't afford to make games "just for them".

Any game developer from the top of the heap, to the most successful indy developers, want to be successful. And being successful means casting your net wide and catching all the fish you can.

Be as done with BioWare as you want, for every person like you, they'll have replaced you with 20 others that have just come into the BioWare fold because BioWare STOPPED making niche games that only sold a few hundred thousand units at best.

Yep, the whole 'squeaky wheel gets the grease' bit...whining in a forum, and hiding behind a username seems a little passive-aggressive to me, but whatevs.

My opinion of ME3 is that if the SP is as good as the MP, we're in for one heck of a ride. I can't wait! Posted ImagePosted Image

We will see. How many people do you honestly see buying DA3? Only ''very devoted fans'' of Bioware will. Very small sale numbers that game will have. ME3 will be a commercial succes no doubt, but afterwards you will see a decline in sales of Bioware games.

Hell I'm buying DA3 just to find out wtf Morrigan is up to. And the state of Thedas as a war between the Chantry and Mages rages across the land.

Are you people so mad that DA2 was more action based than DA:O that you're truly willing to just ignore the story entirely and base your hatred for it on that one change alone?

Even if they added ONE button that said "AWESOME" and every time you pushed it everything around you exploded, I'd still buy DA3 for the story.

Its amazing how hardcore "RPGers" can forget that the story is the key element of any RPG. And the game system that surrounds it is simply window dressing.

I must say that, for the sake of your own definition of core audience, I hope you got the reference...
On a different note: Please, by all means, do as you say. Just don't take it as a personal offense or something if their games don't meet your standards.

I am not personally offended, they do not know me, there is nothing personal about it. I am just extremely disappointed that they used to make games i thoroughly enjoyed and are now making games that are action based and ten a penny to be honest. They do not stand out as a RPG master developer anymore, they are a mediocre action developer, with a bit of talking. Bioware in steep decline.

I'm thinking it's going the same way as DA2, it will be met with critical acclaim from the critics, the user score on metacritic will be around 2 or 3 out of 10, and it will sell well. Not amazingly well, but good enough.

Bioware will almost certainly be shut down or something.

DA2 was a bit of a dog to me. Cool combat but waaay too much repetition. However, I'll almost definitely buy DA3 because I can't imagine they'll make it so repetitious next time. They're learning animals. I didn't like the lack of armor and weapon customization in ME2 either and now it's back in ME3. Ya gotta give them a chance to make some mistakes and learn from them. Overall, I think BioWare has a pretty good track record.

Guess what, the game that made you like BioWare so much was predicted to fail by some other forum member years ago.

Just so we're on the same page here. To you steep decline means more popular than before right? Because unless that is your definition, I can't even begin to fathom how you make that argument.

Seriously??? Bioware's games are the best RPGs in a very limited market. Sure there is Skyrim and Witcher, both great games but both lack something that is called immersion. Skyrim is way too generic, without actual end and Witcher, what can I say, you play a specific character. As an avid RPG fan and pen and paper player and storyteller I want something more. ME was a very good game, I played it despite the difficulties I have with shooters,ME2 was breathtaking and currently I am waiting anxiously for ME3.

DA2 done well on pre orders, something that will NOT happen with DA3. Same with ME2 it done well on pre-orders and was a decent game but not as good as the original, and by no means the disaster DA2 was. ME3 will do very well, mainly due to it being the series finale and people want to see Shepards story out. After ME3 they will not do as well, DA3 will bomb completely unless it does a 180 and back to its original roots, DAO. ME3 will be all champagne and sunshine for Bioware, the decline will come after.
