Supposed Xios did a perfect ME3 playthrough and still only got a grimdark ending.
He may have proven he has the game, and that this ending exists, but we still don't know what choices he made in ME1, ME2, and ME3. Or what in-game scenes are in-between or after these movie files. And this "perfect play-through" is purely hearsay. I'm not trying to play the blindly hopeful card, but I'm also not playing the "blindly morose" card until I've played through myself.

There's no way they're hiding a major ending behind imports. They would not do that to newcomers. Or even oldcomers who don't have their saves.
I never said it would be a major ending. This very likely is the ending. However, there may be in-game cutscenes that lend a lighter or darker tone to it. As people have pointed out before, were you to extract .bink files from ME2, all you'd see is the Collector Base blowing up. I'll maintain my reservations until release-day. And if I'm wrong? Ah well, you win some, and you lose some.

But that's not even the point. "Lend a lighter tone," how? If it turns it into not stranded and the relays are being rebuilt, it's a major ending. And you're talking about imports.

A couple of small thumbnails of the Normandy crashed, Joker holding someone, the Illusive Man's cracked face, and one other one I can't recall. Those are the only ones I'm aware of as of now, as I've been only following the storm on BSN.
In regards to this:

I never said a thing about relays being rebuilt. I'm only saying that there may be in-game scenes that alleviate some of the bleakness. As to what they are, I don't know since I don't have the game yet. We'll find out. I'm probably wrong, but we can't say for certain until the release.

Which means Zaeed is still alive since it seems in most of his stories he's the only one/one of the only ones to survive his missions. I'll accept this as I like Zaeed

I like sad enddings like this because they are not really sad. Sure the Normandy may end up destroyed/crashed but it has a crew of less then 50 people and you just saved trillions and ensured that intelegent life will go on.
I care more about those less than 50 people than I do about the trillions.
And I'm not entirely convinced at this point that there was any "intelegent" life to be saved in the first place.
