Because this is a really major part of the game, right?
I mean c'mon, you think that EVERYTHING in those outdated scripts needed to be changed/polish on? I'm pretty sure that many things like small, minor easter eggs were more or less finished there. When BW mentioned that the scripts were early, outdated drafts that needed more work and polish they probably meant that things that really matter to the game and the story weren't fully accurate. You can't expect EVERYTHING to be radically different, especially not small unsignificant things like this.
