OK, here's my dilemma... and I apologize in advance if this has already been covered ad nauseum, but I can't seem to find any reference to it across the web.

I made an elf character but I want to change the ears to stick out (through hair, since one's forced to create a "flat ears" elf otherwise, even if Dalish). Now, I've found many, many options for making a char with such ears:

1. Mods that include out-ears presets in the character creation options
2. Using the toolset to create an out-ear elf morph and exporting the morph to the savegame

What I want to do is edit the actual character I've made through the character creator using the toolset- or even create new characters that I flesh out as much as I can using the character creator engine (since the toolset is so clunky otherwise) and only THEN revert to the toolset for the special stuff (like ears). Is this possible? I've tried drag-and-drop of .chr and save.das files into the toolset, and I can see
the morph is there but can't find an option to send it to the morph
editor.

It looks as if my only option besides making a new morph from scratch entirely in the toolset editor every time is to use the game's own preset morphs (NPCs like Morrigan), but I can't believe it's impossible in any way to import DAO char morphs I've created in the game itself to edit them in the toolset.

I believe it is actually impossible to adjust the morph of a Warden created in character creation. There seems to be no way to import it in the toolset.

It seemed that way, but not because I've found anything stating as such- rather because of the glaring absence of any mod or suggestions (toolset or no) that allow one to do so.

The only thing I did find is the FaceReplacer which is available from NewByPower, and it seems to say that it can both extract a .mor file from a game and enable you to import it into the toolset. Sounds about right. However, it requires the program python to activate its code, and I'm not seeing how to get that working either.

EDIT:
I had an idea that I could just change the name and location of the character's .mor to make it listed in the BAS files that the toolset morph editor looks for- then do whatever edits and relocate it to a saved game. As it is, it seems the toolset doesn't list override options like Pineapple's or CC's for hair and tints, so... unless I can get an elf preset working, looks like I'll have either elaborate flat ears or base game model with open ears... and in either case I start from scratch...

Got FaceReplacer working, but I was wrong- it exports the character .mor from a saved game, but there's still no way to import it into the toolset...

EDIT2:
Found a 2-part YouTube vid  posted by TekimenKasui (SerenityBlue on Nexus) showing how to create an .mor (or .mop in this case) and then introduce it into the game as a preset during character creation by simply sticking it in the override folder. That way I could add a set of open-ears to an elf just as I want, then do the rest of the editing with the ease of the character creator- meaning I'd still have to start from scratch, but at least that would enable use of both the CC and toolset for creation of a single char. And custom options like Pineapple's should be recognizable in the toolset by opening view to "all."

If I manage to determine some way of importing .mor's (or some other trick), I'll post it...

EDIT3:
I did find this mod... It's supposed to add more prominent elf ears for the regular presets (less extreme and Yoda-like than the Chargen mod), but it seems to have worked retroactively... giving all my earlier elf characters (made from vanilla presets with the CC) those same elf ears. So I managed what I was after without the toolset. Niiiice...
