I prefer hard-to-get happy endings to mandatory sad and terrible endings. Couple that with all 3 of the endings being complete crap to me.
There's a different between "Artful and mature" and "Forced and contrived", and the ME3 endings are teetering towards the latter.
All said, I'm keeping my pre-order. There are still elements in the game I want to experience.

Mind you, I'm mostly happy with the ending as we know it now, so I suppose that's moot. But if I hated the ending with a passion, I'd still be able to see enough worth paying for in the rest of the game's content to throw my money in the jar.

Yes. Stories have so much more to them than endings.
I know how Lord of the Rings ends, yet I still read it at least once a year. I watch movies that I know how end because they're good movies.
Yeah, but those endings were good.
These are not.

I'm weak willed. I dislike the ending, but more so dislike the day one DLC cheese. Yet if I have nothing better to do, and this game is there a mouse click away...........I am just not a very good protestor. If I was one of those Wall Street protestors, I'd leave to line the second some rich dude walked past me and said I'm paying for beers.
Still FU Bioware for not giving me a Krogan party member........blah rambling now:)

The 27% will still buy it, they're just being emotional.

But I won't buy it new. I'll buy it used.
Losing 27% of potential full-price buyers is a pretty galling number... BW better hope f***ing the Normandy doesn't put off non-fan customers in such large numbers. That's not a good stat.

Non-fan customers don't even know what the Normandy is.
They will by the end of the game.

A game they will have bought already. What are we arguing about, again?
*sigh* and then will quickly sell back because they never want to play something that hopeless again and warn their friends that the ending sucks. Word of mouth will wound the sales for this game pretty badly.

From that link:
But also, don't get your panties in a twist, Mass Effect 3 will not be a complete departure from the series' epic roots. "Mass Effect 3 is going to be the epic conclusion… so, a lot more darkness but also a lot more humor,” said Hudson.
