Generally, as with "boycotting", people that say this usually dont mean it, and most companies see the empty threats for what they are.Ryuuken117 wrote...
I've already preordered and preloaded ME3, just so that I can play at 12 AM Tuesday morning. It's a little late to not buy the game.
But I tell you this, though; if this game is as bad as I think it's going to be, this will be the last Bioware game I'll ever buy.
See, each time, and empty heat of he moment threat to resign what you will not resign to. I don't meant to target you specifically, since a lot of people do this all the time, Ii just don't see the point of idle threats. Reminds me of a line from a movie called BASEketball:Ryuuken117 wrote...

Yes,
but I only give a franchise one shot, if they screw me I'm out. Fable,
Saints Row, Dragon Age, and the list keeps growing. As of now those
franchises are dead to me after horrible sequels.
I was a
Bioware fan for over a decade, ever since I played Baldur's Gate 2. I
gave them three shots out of respect for the joy they brought me with
KOTOR, BG2 and Neverwinter Knights. They struck out with Dragon Age II
and SWOTOR. If they get one more strike with ME3, I'm jumping ship for a
developer that isn't taking Richard Garriott's experience with EA as a
how-to guide.
I swear if you guys rip on me 13 or 14 more times... I'm outta here!

I'll tell you what. I think you're right about most boycotts. They do work sometimes, but the community has to be really galvanized--impossible in this situation because so many have pre-ordered. But anyway, yeah.
Here's what I will do, though: I will refrain from pre-ordering BioWare games in the future, and I will wait until they've been out a couple of months and been reduced in price before I buy.
Why? Well, it comes down to personal preference. I don't get off on grimdark endings to things; it ruins my sense of achievement, and it depresses me. I don't really need that. If I want that, there are better places to get it than this, in better quality and better quantity. Bittersweet is fine. Plain bitter, I can do without. So now I'll know--read the spoilers, read the wiki, read the walkthrough and then decide if I want to spend time playing the game.
I don't think many people will even go that far, though. And anyway, I don't think a boycott would work. BioWare's shown us they pay attention to Facebook, Twitter, and (sorta) BSN--see the evolution of the femShep trailer for evidence of that. If you want to influence them, speak directly to them via those channels. A metric crapton of BioWare employees are on Twitter, and the devs are always asking for feedback. Give it to them (politely).

I'll rent it. It still looks like a fun game overall, just not one I want to spend $60 on. I regret purchasing DA2 and TOR (although it's obviously impossible to rent TOR), so I've learned my lesson.
Yeah, DA2 kinda ruined it for me.
That and I hate Origin.

That will make it 3 Bioware flops (DA2, SWTOR and ME3) in a year... awesome. Well, there's still Bethesda I guess
