Agreed. I understand that this manual is copyrighted, but still...it would be nice if I could read it before I get the game.

Yep! Would be nice to have something already. Especially for those in Europe, who have to wait their preloads unlock for eternity...

I'm an American working in Japan, I'm right there with you...I ordered a physical CE and it's going to take it at least a week to get here.

Why benefit the pirates? I rather wait for my boxed version and pore over the manual on my bed. I'm sure the pdf version will be available soon after the game hits retail stores.

1)  A manual isn't going to affect pirating one bit.

2)  Waiting for it to be on the shelves kinda defeats the purpose.

wonderful! though I skimmed through the manual and must conclude it doesn't contain any background story. It's just an explanation of the gameplay mechanics :(.

Thank you ... as we Europeans have to wait even a few days more I can at least now increase my expectations of the game by reading the manual.

Edit: a 23/24-page manual for a game like DAO? ... Sigh ... where have all the good times gone when RPGs like BG had manuals almost the size of telephone books?

Look again, that's pdf pages, there are two manual pages per pdf page...

The manual is 34 pages....41 with all the end credits and back matter.

Thank you for the Link. Bioware gave a shorter manual than I expected but it is informative, it has lots of useful good to know stuff. A lot of it as the manual says (the long details) will need to be read in game.

Thank for the manaul :) in electronic form :)

As for the manual being within the game box itself, I do think these days are over. Today, it is the WIKI we go to for the things such as history, background, lore and other sych things. However, I do think that it would have been to have included the Strategy Guide in the Collector's Edition - (although I believe there's a few tips in CE version of Dragon Age: Origins?) - just like CD RED Project did with the Enhanced Edition of The Witcher.
