Hello, I beat the Mass Effect 2 campaign before the DLC content came out. I would really like to download and play the DLC content in Mass Effect 2 before loading my character into Mass Effect 3. So I have to ask if it's possible to the play the DLC for Mass Effect 2 after beating the campaign? Thanks for your time.

Thanks Destroydacre, I was just wondering how I would go about playing the DLC after the credits roll? This is after I go through the relay and defeat that cybernetic creature. After defeating it the credits roll so I am not sure how I would go about playing the DLC. Thanks.

You return to your ship after the credits. You can then finish off any remaining sidemissions, dlc included. The game never really ends.

In Mass Effect 2 you can do side missions after finishing off the Collectors. Side missions include DLC. You can try it with normal side missions - load up your save and you should be able to fly around the galaxy, talk to squadmates, visit hubs etc.

In Mass Effect 1 you CANNOT do this, and once the credits roll, its game over.

Thanks guys, I got back into the game and I am starting Arrival now. By later today I will be loading up Mass Effect 3.

I just read the responses so thanks to those who responded to "chrislo's" question because I would have asked the same question because I am going to be playing after a lot of mass effect with the DLCs this summer.

In fact, I think it works best if you keep LOTSB and Arrival until after the Collectors are dealt with. The dialog changes nicely to reflect that you've beaten the Collectors. Arrival makes a nice prologue to ME3, it really flows if you immediately import your Shepard into ME3 and keep playing!

I'm just at this point too. Finished ME2, about to play LotSB and Arrival after the end sequence. Then I'll play ME3 for the first time.

My question is: without spoilers, are there any decisions/conversation options from these two DLCs that get imported into ME3 (like how BDtS in ME1 had import decisions), and, if so, does the import still work correctly in ME3 if you play the DLCs after the ending of ME2?

ME3 just assumes you played the DLCs (LotSB and Arrival) in the other case.  (No effect in ME3, iirc)

You should also do the Character DLCs Zaeed and Kasumi, those you need to play to get noticed in ME3
