So, yeah.  If these endings are true, I'm done.  I won't go into hysterics, I'm just going to get rid of Mass Effect items.  I see no reason why to keep them, after what, six years, of promoting a series, of loving every minute of it, only to be so angry it retroactively ruins the series to me (you other folks are fine liking it, that's your call), to the point that I feel Mac Walters and Casey Hudson have pseudo given me the finger.  "Hey, fan, you DON'T GET  a happy ending.  All the things you purchased, all the copies you sold working in retail part-time while you promoted us in your schooling to be a teacher?  Forget that.  We built you up, and now we want you to end upset."  Well, excuse me for saying all this (I am sure Mac and Casey are lovely in RL, merely saying that, as a fan, I feel INSULTED by the LEAKED ENDINGS (again, this is if they are true, I'm in wait-and-see mode)), but truth be told, I haven't been this annoyed with a fictional narrative since Devil's Due Publishing "killed off Snake-Eyes"... and Hasbro took back the rights of G.I. Joe for a reason, if you get my meaning.

This. Exactly this. You couched my opinion in terms. (Especially the part with not going into hysterics and showing respect due the humans behind Bioware against all the odds.) :)

I don't think I could ever stomach buying something with Bioware on it again if this is what we get for being loyal ME fans for years!

I'd just be enabling their habit of making more stuff that amounts to worse garbage. I mean this is looking to be the biggest FAIL LETDOWN In all of HISTORY!

I just don't think I could bring myself to.

It will never be cool ever again,

Ending ME this way would be like if Lucas reviled in Return of the Jedi that the Force being found in someone is due to that persons Mom Farted while giving birth to them and they now have the power of the Force.

Point is, those endings will ruin the series for me.  No exaggeration, that is how angry I will be.  Out of seven endings, not one is a happy ending?  That isn't artistic.  That isn't poetic, or meaningful, that is forcing a particular ending on a series where the promise has always been "You get to decide what happens," and, well, guess what?  I wanted to kill the bad guys and go home with my girl-friend.  I can accept losses, I can accept friends dying, but when I cannot do anything to save MOST of the characters I care about from a fate forced upon them, when all other indication throughout the series is"You can choose," well, I'm done.  I'm taking my ball, and I'm going the f*** home.

Okay, now tell me how you really feel.

I totally get your meaning. It's not just one game that will be ruined for me, it'll be three.

I have a handful of Shepherds having made different choices, having chosen different origins, all so I could have a few ways to end story. Then I find out there are only a few endings each of which leaves you in a state that closely approximates the other two and I have to ask myself why I even bothered.

No it's like discovering that the Force isn't a mystical, physical manifestation of your will and is instead the product of mitichlorian bacteria in your blood -- which it apparently is now -- thanks George Lucas.

Now SW fans are just trying to forget that that's the status quo. They're trying to forget Jar-Jar. They're trying to forget that Amidala/Padme didn't age through the three movies. It's so hard to sequester that knowledge.

Oh wait there is more to that the Death Star is powered by woman creating children with the Force and it ends up blowing up and killing almost everyone and the only ones who live are Luke and Lia on a planet that they sustain by themselves for generations to come. By Inbreading Babies with the FORCE.

While everyone else dies.

Honestly, this is just sad. Sadly what happens when you **** your franchise out to an abusive publisher that is in it not for the fans, but for the stock holders.

So in short, worst ending I've ever read/played/had the misfortune of being apart of. Nope, those choices you made in ME1 and ME2 hold absolutely NO weight whatsoever. No matter how you put it, it's a slap in the face to the fans that started the series way back in 2007.

I wouldn't say EA should take all the "credit" for this one. BioWare ultimately wrote it. It's not entirely EA's fault, and BioWare isn't blameless in this.

itt: People pretend that they actually buy out of game products from bioware in order to declare how done they are withthis company, thus creating the illusion of a mass protest.

As a credentialed literature major I take offense to the deus ex copout and the ridiculous "Sole Survior" motif.

Thrown in every cliche' in a space opera you can and you have the culmination that is Mass Effect 3's ending. The originality that made Mass Effect 1 and 2 so grand has dried up and withered under the Saronic eye of EA and Bioware.

Bioware only deals in Black and whites. Occaisoanally neutrals. But hey, if you don't like their ending feel free to write your own script, I'd love to give it a read.

If they fix the endings via DLC so people can get the endings they deserved and worked for... then yeah I'll buy everything they throw at me.

If they don't then, I don't think I'll be able to go back to the Mass Effect franchise

I'm sorry but I can't put the blame on EA, I put it on BW, if they really cared about doing what they had set out to do in the first place, they had choices and some of them seemed to go off the whacky bus or something.
I personally would be the dude hiding in the back leaking all sorts of the sick details out to GREAT Sources on the Web, and give them special instructions to say that BW has a Mole in their group and that the mole is unhappy with these abominations going on and wanted to appeal to the fans, or let them know about this sick things coming to fruition as it is. If it don't do any good at least I can walk away and Say "heh I tied and I didn't give a damn about getting killed over leaking this sick stuff"
But NOOO it seems too many of the people involved in this are just gonna lie to us all day long, and try and tell us this is the great ending we get now live with it.

Can you imange the waith of the Tali' fans when they find out if you side with the Geth that she kills herself and that her role is a small role?
How about Miranda Fans? Kai Leng and his Toothbrush prison shank strike again! Back for more Anderson Cereal also!
Thane Fanes? Where is THANE? Oh that is sad it made me cry!
Samara Fans? OH **** THATS ME ME NO NO NO!
Jack Fans? NOT SURE what we get yet?
Liara Fans NO NO NO Liara you've been separated from me NO!
Kelly Fans WHAT that is worse than her role in the leaked Script!

Those are just the ones I know about right off the top of my head. Of cause I'd love to be eating my own words when ME3 comes out instead of green, red, or blue lights and bad, bad, or bad endings.

Still going to enjoy this **** out of it though, don't care about an ending or anything else.
