I don't think I could ever stomach buying something with Bioware on it again if this is what we get for being loyal ME fans for years!

I'd just be enabling their habit of making more stuff that amounts to worse garbage. I mean this is looking to be the biggest FAIL LETDOWN In all of HISTORY!

I just don't think I could bring myself to.

It will never be cool ever again,

Ending ME this way would be like if Lucas reviled in Return of the Jedi that the Force being found in someone is due to that persons Mom Farted while giving birth to them and they now have the power of the Force.

No it's like discovering that the Force isn't a mystical, physical manifestation of your will and is instead the product of mitichlorian bacteria in your blood -- which it apparently is now -- thanks George Lucas.

Now SW fans are just trying to forget that that's the status quo. They're trying to forget Jar-Jar. They're trying to forget that Amidala/Padme didn't age through the three movies. It's so hard to sequester that knowledge.

No see I discredit anything from those stupid prequels. That's why I went to Return of the Jedi, beacuse it was a great ending and if it had went whacky there well than ME3 could compair.

If they fix the endings via DLC so people can get the endings they deserved and worked for... then yeah I'll buy everything they throw at me.

If they don't then, I don't think I'll be able to go back to the Mass Effect franchise

It's not happening. Bioware never promised you a happy ending and they won't give you one because it's not how they intended the series to end.

Actually, before that they actually said something along the lines of...

"There will be a tragic ending, a middleground and happy ending."

So, your choices don't matter after all?

The Homeworld comics series or the patched Deception books.

Or the rumored Mass Effect MMO.

As long as they won't go back on this "Destroy the universe in RGB" ending and give us a DLC/Patch implementing a choice about the exploding relays, I won't. Not because of any particular resentment, though I'll have plenty of that, too, but because it won't be fun experiencing all those stories knowing that it will all go down the drain. I was prepared to let Shepard die to save galactic civilization, but as it is I'll rather spend the time writing my own endings than buy more stuff that will remind me of the ending.

I'm going to be one of those freaks and actually wait to play the game itself first, ignore the speculations and conjectures of people who do not have and cannot have all the facts as yet, and use my own judgment.

The books, well, they're filler - and not particularly well-written filler, imo, and I have no interest in them.  The vast majority of ME spin-off, toys, art-books, etc are not even available where I live (Canada, unless it's a major city, and I don't live in one of those), so it's immaterial, that stuff may as well be on the moon; and I despise MMO's, almost as much as I'm no fan of MP.

The last MP I played seriously online was UT2004, and I could at least play with competant and customizable bots if I got tired of being called a "f@gitt!!1" every ten seconds by the thousand cretinous 8 year olds that seem to populate every damn server on Earth.  Even if you could find non-idiots, you were eventually swamped by whiny little sh!ts, anyway.  I tried it once with a COD, and it was like I'd never left. Maybe I'm just an old guy now, but UT99 had some serious players serious about playing the damn game - and were a pleasure to play with - unfortunately most now are not like they were then.  One gets tired really quickly of listening to some idiot scream about how unfair your headshot was because he was too stupid to duck.

The comics are like the novels, imo.  Poor writing and too much computer -assisted illustration.  Hell, the one with Liara - Redemption, I think it was - I spent half that series going, "Do asari not know the concept of a decent bra?".

If ME3 sucks, that'll be the end of ME anything for me.  But it'll have to suck by my standards.

They also said that choosing strictly paragon or renegade isn't going to give us the golden ending, meaning the Synthesis/Synergy ending is likely the "happy" ending.

I think a "happy" or "best" ending is what you make of it. I can see the one "Shepard lives" ending being the best in many others' playbooks. For others, their opinions will differ. For me, I would go with the Synergy ending because I feel transhumanism is the next logical step in our collective "evolution" considering the advancement of our technology.

Ultimately, however, all endings are critically marred by the Normandy crew's final fate.

nope, ME3 will be it for me as far as the ME IP goes, lol DA2 ended my run with all things Dragon Age

I guess I've had my fill of BioWare games, was a good run(for awhile at least) but I'm ready to move on to something better.

PS: Please feel free to respond with the typical "dont let the door hit ur butt on ur way out" or "good riddance" or "can I haz ur stuff" replies.

Are you kidding?

I'm honest to God considering giving away my-
Mass Effect 2 figures
Pre-Ordered Series 2 figures
Art book for ME1ME1 store standeeME3 store standee
2 Mass Effect playing card decks (one is sealed)
4 novels
3 collected series of comics
18 different game magazines with ME covers
Art of Mass Effec
tNormandy replica
2 posters
3 guides (ME1, ME2 CE and ME2 Expanded)
Predator pistol rip-off
Inflatable omni-tool
4 shirts (liara, Miranda, Paragon, Newton
CE of ME1
CE of ME2
ME2 (standard)
ME1 platinum edition

So, yeah.  If these endings are true, I'm done.  I won't go into hysterics, I'm just going to get rid of Mass Effect items.  I see no reason why to keep them, after what, six years, of promoting a series, of loving every minute of it, only to be so angry it retroactively ruins the series to me (you other folks are fine liking it, that's your call), to the point that I feel Mac Walters and Casey Hudson have pseudo given me the finger.  "Hey, fan, you DON'T GET  a happy ending.  All the things you purchased, all the copies you sold working in retail part-time while you promoted us in your schooling to be a teacher?  Forget that.  We built you up, and now we want you to end upset."  Well, excuse me for saying all this (I am sure Mac and Casey are lovely in RL, merely saying that, as a fan, I feel INSULTED by the LEAKED ENDINGS (again, this is if they are true, I'm in wait-and-see mode)), but truth be told, I haven't been this annoyed with a fictional narrative since Devil's Due Publishing "killed off Snake-Eyes"... and Hasbro took back the rights of G.I. Joe for a reason, if you get my meaning.

Point is, those endings will ruin the series for me.  No exaggeration, that is how angry I will be.  Out of seven endings, not one is a happy ending?  That isn't artistic.  That isn't poetic, or meaningful, that is forcing a particular ending on a series where the promise has always been "You get to decide what happens," and, well, guess what?  I wanted to kill the bad guys and go home with my girl-friend.  I can accept losses, I can accept friends dying, but when I cannot do anything to save MOST of the characters I care about from a fate forced upon them, when all other indication throughout the series is"You can choose," well, I'm done.  I'm taking my ball, and I'm going the f*** home.

And if you didn't read this gargantuan post, let me some it up with this; I love(d) Mass Effect so much, I kept my receipts for the CE editions of 1 and 2 as mementos, hell, check my history and see the thread I started where I was looking to make my store's launch of ME3 awesome, out of my own pocket.  IF these endings are true, and IF there is no happy ending available within a few months after launch, then they are going in the trash, and Bioware can make their money off of someone else.  I'll be done.

Now this is a true Mass Effect fan. People like him, myself and everybody else who gave there hard earned money for the games are being screwed by Bioware (EA), what they are doing  is insulting and sick.

What they probably should have added was " Even though we've been shoehorning  you into playing pure Paragon/Renegade in the last two games"

I'm sorry but I have to say this - I am sick and tired of those who do not oppose the endings telling me how to feel by shoving it down my throat that 'I do not like tragedy.' Are you kidding me? I LOVE tragedies!! 90% of fiction should END tragically, since that is more realistic to the inevitability of life ending, the reality we all face. Honestly, when something ends with rainbows and ponies I am INSULTED it wasn't justifiably ended in tragedy instead.

That being said, I do not hate these endings for their 'tragic' factor. There is nothing 'tragic' about them. The only tragedy here is that such potential for a wonderful ending to a phenomenal series has been butchered to such a degree. The endings are contrived, unjustified in the context of the ME universe, and a forced attempt at trying to garner emotion without being based upon a platform of genuine emotional investment. It insults my intelligence as a buyer of the games that what Mac and his team have come up with is expected by them to be eaten, swallowed, and accepted by me as though it were a legitimate conclusion to the series. I may not be the writer of Mass Effect, but that doesn't mean I don't understand the motivations and characterizations of its universe. I'm just.....insulted. All around insulted.

I'm only really passionate about the turian race, so most definitely going to keep being invested in Mass Effect even though I'm very disappointed with this nose dive approach to ME3. Looking forward to the Garrus issue of Homeworlds, especially with the new writer for the comics.
