I've got DDE. First it was "Mass Effect 3 Digital Deluxe Edition RU". And after few days ''RU'' disappeared. But it doesn't matter. There is still no option of choosing language.

I'm very disappointed. Unless some solution is found until tomorrow, I'm going to take a refund and order in EU store via proxy. :crying: Really stupid move, EA.

Since I'm a noob when it comes to buying stuff online, how can you order from the EU Origin?

Finally! Thanks to h0w1er and Shezo I finally managed to change text language to English. Basically you need to download two files: GDFBinary_en_US.dll and BIOGame_INT.tlk. After that rename this files to GDFBinary_ru_RU.dll and BIOGame_RUS.tlk and replace original files with this two.

UPD: Actually, you need only  BIOGame_INT.tlk file. Rename it to BIOGame_RUS.tlk and put in the ...\\Mass Effect 3\\BIOGame\\CookedPCConsole folder. Thanks again, Shezo.

Yay, good to know. But what about DLC?

Where can I download GDFBinary_en_US.dll? I only found a link for BIOGame_INT.tlk ITT

Edit: nevermind, I found it

Well, maybe tomorrow we'll find out. Because I haven't finished even "demo" part in ME3 yet.

OK. Please, report here when you get to the Normandy.

Thanks everyone.

I assume for every DLC you'll just have to download all english files and rename them to have RUS in their names. Praise the Maker they didn't bother translating voices.

I'll try setting a proxy and dowloading the game. At least the Origin store is in English now.

Let us know if that works.

I'll need about 22 hours to download, so if anyone with a normal connection tries it, we'll know sooner :)

I'm guessing it doesn't work since it's downloaded GDFBinary_ru_RU.dll.

Nope.
*.tlk file is enough. Just rename it to RUS and you will be fine.

I've tried to combine all of them, as to change on game's menu, but no, game can see only Russian. So renaming is only option for now. But there is for sure will be some better language options in the future (non official subs-pack).

So what about the "From Ashes" DLC? Does changing tlk file switches languages in it as well?

Well, at least it's English in menus, descriptions and main story.

But I hope a patch or at least a third party patch will be released.

Ankur:
Thanks for contacting EA Help! My name is Ankur how may I help you?
you:
Hi, I have Mass Effect 3 DDE on PC which i purchased via Origin
you:
I can't change in-game and subtitle text language, there is only one option - Russian
you:
Is there any way to get english language support?
Ankur:
xxxx, as the game is region specific you could not change or update the language.
you:
Before the release developers have said that we would be able to change ingame language and download additional language packs if needed
you:
I could change the language in Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 2 by the same developer
you:
Also on Origin
Ankur:
Origin is region specific & game could be availed only in Russian language.
Ankur:
That is the option you select while placing an order through origin.
you:
So the previous games are an exception and there is no way to get ME3 in English if I reside in Russia, am I right?
Ankur:
Right.
Ankur:
There were few games which are region specific & they are BF3 & ME 3
you:
That's unfortunate, to say the least, but ok, thank you for the clarification

Now that's just great.

So, let's reiterate:
1) There was several topics and posts from developers prior to release claiming that you CAN change game's VO/subtitles language by using in-game settings;
2) Yet after the release there's NO EA-sanctioned way to obtain language files other than from your region, and obtaining them in any other way won't help you anyway (unless you resort to swapping game resources).

Ah, that's so plainly great. I'll bet a hundred bucks that there won't be any more official Bioware comments on the matter, other than "deal with it".

Entire reason for Russian versions is the grey market keys from stores such as g2keys, cdkeyprices etc. Usually language patches are provided on their sites to combat it.

There's already a "patch" right in this thread. The issue isn't about we can't make a language change (we can, though it involves some heavy-handed actions).

Nothing of what you wrote condones a lie. You want russian versions heavily region-locked? Say so in advance and stop wasting everyone's time.

No don't want that since I actually just ended up with a russian key myself. Think you should be allowed to buy the game from anywhere as long as it is legal. There's nothing illegal about gamerkeys, g2play etc so they should stop this nonsense with russian only keys and provide them too with official way to play in english if they want to.

It's an excuse, not a reason. I don't see why I can't buy english version for a higher price or buy english language pack as a DLC. Just give me some official way to get it.

A company searching globally to save money (ie call centres in India) = good business.
A customer searching globally to save money = BAD! BAD! BAD!

It's a nice double standard many multinational companies have.

It is not an acceptable workaround. It requires downloading language files from shady sites and is basically a hack that can get you banned.
