Yea I'll be using it 3PM UK time on Monday.

I've done it for Battlefield 3, Kingdoms of Amalur and Syndicate on Origin.

And plenty more on Steam.

As long as you're buying the game in your own country (not using VPN to avoid VAT etc.) then there's no problem with doing it.

Monday? Which country is releasing it at that time on a monday?

Hong Kong get it at Tue 06 Mar, 00:01 KST.

Which is 3PM on Monday in the UK

Thanks, that's 4pm for me.

You only need to have the VPN running to unlock the game.

Once you've unlocked it, the game won't check your IP or the release date again.

In regards to online, I'm not sure on that. I've never played a multiplayer game early after unlocking it via VPN. Might be best to stick to SP, unless someone can say if it'll work

So you recommend running Origin in Offline mode, because the game uses internet for menu (Alliance network).

I've also been looking through some of the video files (there is not very many) so fingers crossed to expect a lot of in engine cinematics.

Lol, I remember Steam releasing DAO one (or two, I don't remember) day earlier in Italy because at 1200 everyone was using proxy to unlock the game earlier (me included).

Just use it. Region lock is an archaïc practice that should have been abandoned long ago.
The only reason it's here, is because it would be unfair practice to unlock the game before the retailers can sell it (friday in europe).
EA doesn't care as long as you paid for the game.
I for one am going to use it (as soon as my CE box gets here).

Retailers can launch whichever date actually, as proven by Skyrim, worldwide release on 11-11-11.

Yes all this oooh its tuesday must me DLC day or ooh its friday it must be eu release date is total nonsense. I can only think that its some execs saying "thats the way its always been done so we must carry on that way"

The only reason we have different release dates for US and Europe still in this day & age is "tradition". Nothing else. Either Europe should just switch to Tuesdays, or US to Fridays and we should have global releases, like movies hit cinemas globally the same day

but still whats with the the tuesday or friday date why not a monday or wednesday truth is it can be any day or time.

You shouldn't need to run Origin in offline mode. For the Alliance Network, it'll either connect to the server, or just say unavailable (they might not be activated until Friday in the UK).

Either way, once you've used the VPN to unlock the game, you'll be able to play single player for sure

my ce boxed doesn't arrive till 9th so I'll just have to wait. But if this wasn't the case then yes I'd use vpn.

VPN is becoming more of a requirement these days just to stop people snooping on you.

So once VPN unlocks - you can delete it, close Origin and reload it using normal IP in online mode and play game.

Yup that's right. And I know for a fact that's how it works as I did it just last week with Syndicate

So I have tried getting origin to work with 2 vpn's and it hasn't worked, still shows my region store page. Has any one tried anything similar with any success? Vpn works just fine with my web browser but not origin.

Yo, guys, quick question about this. Will this work for the Digital Deluxe edition too? I ask because my pre load has a little '-EU' tag on it. Unsure if that would mess things up a little bit. Thanks.

Yes, it should hypothetically work for any game on Origin.

So after preloading and installing you get this:

Image IPB

Not sure what effect (if any) this has on vpn though...

I just tried running Mass Effect 3 and is just the same date checker as bf3 so the method i used back then should be fine, you dont need to install any vpn, just do this

http://forums.overcl...postcount=28851

If you think your origin account information may be in danger just dont open it, you dont need it runing to do the date-check just use your ME3 shortcut in your desktop.

So just set the proxy like in the link, run de shortcut and disable the proxy again ;)

What i am concerned though about using VPN is.

Once i have entered the activation key, i fear that apply for US since i connect to a american IP and not an european on Tuesday.

Which then causes in i won't be able to use the key again when i switch off VPN on Thursday for EU release over here :/ since it will say ''This Activation Key has already being used''.

Makes me really concerned.

Might sound like an ridicolous concern to some of you, but until someone can give me an reassureing answer that this is not the case here. I will still be concerned about using VPN on Tuesday:?

Nevermind just tried that ip proxies and it still says it unlocks the 8th, i will be trying tomorrow with flyvpn to see if it works

@Vez04 If you got it preordered in Origin you dont have to enter any key, you only need to bypass the date-checker the first time you try to run the game, probably with the fisical cd keys you have to redeem it in origin (probably you can do it now already) but you have to bypass the date-checker too, once you bypass the date-checker you can turn off the proxys/vpn and play normally, dont worry (with bf3 you could even enter battlelog and play in servers days before the official european release)
