It seems to be that they have increased the amount of dialog while keeping the ratio of decisions the same which in turn make it seem like there are less interactivity being made by the player. This is how I am seeing it anyways. With the amount of dialog and having it with 3 choices EACH time, I am not sure that that would fit on two disks, hell even 3 disks. We have a long way to go until we can get that much control.

I can't see money being the reason they removed dialogue choice from 3. They have EA backing them up, even paying for another team to add multiplayer. It seems to be a design choice, especially the interview where they said they wanted to have less interaction in cutscenes but make it enjoyable to watch like Uncharted.

I agree that this was the worse time to do it though, it's the last game of the shepard trilogy. People have created characters over the past two games that get disregarded in the third. Still gonna keep my CE, but there's no point playing more than once with linear dialogue.

Bioware would be better at telling linear stories me thinks.

Every time I view this thread hoping there will be some evidence against so much auto-dialogue, I lose more hope.

Watched some of the some. Absolutely disgusted at the amount of auto-dialog and lack of choices. You should be ashamed BioWare.

@ hunter, not really. Their strength isn't in story alone, but interactive story. Even so, why not wait until a new franchise/game? Why do it for ME3 after we've established our own Shepards?

@Jdunn1 - Not off the top of my head. Didn't bookmark either. It's somewhere in this thread though, someone had the quote.

Watching Palaven on one of the streams, want to see how it is after this mission. Could get better, fingers crossed.

Good, because the paragon/neutral/renegade thing was getting stupid.

TW2 did it right.....dialogue for choices, persuasions, and questions only.

Hell, I was getting more paragon/renegade points for conversations in ME2 than actual choices I made in thegame. That was ridioculous.

At those still curious, the one from gamespot is imported, and on RPG mode. I'm watching one that isn't imported but still on RPG mode, and it's the same, lots of auto dialogue.

I watched a bit of it on the Normandy where Shepard, Liara and Hackett had a conversation. So much talking, so few dialogue choices.

The auto dialogue so far includes questions, persuasions, and choices. Not big choices, but choices nonetheless.

From what I've seen of the auto dialogue, it's mostly Shepard responding to someone. Apparently, some of it changes based on your Paragon/Renegade meters, so Shepard probably won't act out of character. I'd rather have the old system, but unless Shepard makes major choices or says personality defining lines, then it's not as abominable as some are making it out to be.

If you mean me, I haven't visited the thread before and actually started reading from the beginning to see if there was some sort of consensus and/or more information. That, it turns out, was unfortunate because I eventually landed on your post and found it quite irksome - especially since we're supposed to be cutting it out with that sort of thing.

Auto-dialogue includes some kind of big choices as well. In the gamespot stream, you don't even choose which squad member stay with you. It's all automatic :'(

Only for players who go completely Paragon or Renegade. There are quite a lot of players who like to choose their characters response based on the situation at hand.

It does change based on par/ren though. That's something. But it's still a majority of the dialogue shepard says is automatic. He does say personality defining comments, and small choices on his own though. Still waiting for after palaven, hoping it gets better.

Which he will, there are some MAJOR choices in the game, and charm/itimidate is still there, governed by reputation, whic puts neutrals back in the game, a huge weakness for ME1 and ME2.

There may just be far more NPC dialogue than the first two games, it may be too much for Shep to respond 3 ways for everything. The game does have almost as much dialogue as the first two combined.

Hence the probably. Again, I would much prefer the old system, although ME2 also does have quite a bit of autodialog.

And if you noticed, we have. That's why I asked why you're bringing it up again. That's dead and gone, I'm no longer talking to them. Lets not bring it back up. ;)

What do you mean? If you are paragorn mostly, will he will always take the paragon route in auto-dialogue?
