I agree. the auto dialogue looks as bad as the Witcher 2

Except in the Witcher 2 you play as an already established character. Shepard is made by you.
Not comparable at all.

Right.

In the middle of a warzone it's very immersive if my shepard sits there and talks on philosophy and the meaning of life with Garrus; his most trusted but still mysterious best friend.

Strawmanning isn't helping your point, sir.

this all seems a bit like jumping the gun. Why would bioware, who went out of their way to give an mmo a myriad of dialogue options, suddenly change their formula on the final game? This is a lot of doom and gloom for not playing it.

Look, maybe we're wrong, hopefully we're wrong.  But if so, Bioware really need to tell us that this was in action mode or something.

If you guys are seriously hailing BG 2 as the bastion of choice, than there is seriously no helping you.

I've got an insane idea, why don't we play the game, then decide if there wasn't enough dialogue choice. Ya know, instead of trying out our crystal balls then deciding who's is working better.

Good points about ME1, where we had 3 choices and they were all the same.

I liked the dialogue in the Gamespot vid, especially the banter. It didn't bog down the narrative pace of that part of the story. Maybe they learned a lesson from ME1, where I was getting radio'd by Joker right when it felt like I should be running to something. Not saying getting radio'd by Joker is a bad thing, just it seems in ME1 where they put it hurt the pacing a little. And yes, I know Joker radio's Shepard in the Gamespot vid.

Lets all insult and argue with each other then post smiley faces at the end of our sentenced to suggest something irrelevant :)

Actually, the personal attack that I read was the inclusion in a specific group of people you accused of certain things, which I certainly didn't participate in.

You respond to your failure to correctly categorize people in a group which supposedly has no critical thought by ignoring counter-arguments? Intriguing.

Still looking forward to the tale of the Lost Xiolsite Posts with great anticipation.

I do, in fact, remember how many times there were only two options in BG.

Mass Effect 3: You rarely get two dialogue options. The majority is zero.

BG2: You rarely get two dialogue options. The majority is 5+

Not the same thing.

Right.

In the middle of a warzone it's very immersive if my shepard sits there and talks on philosophy and the meaning of life with Garrus; his most trusted but still mysterious best friend.

Now we will ask Garrus amoungst the debris and destruction his thought on my actions as Shepard and if he truely trusts me whilst innocent Turians die by the truckload.

Yes, very good writing and narrative.<_<

That would actually be brilliant.

Oh no! That means when Joker calls on the radio we won't be able to choose between "I'm here Joker" and "What is it Joker?" Oh what a tragedy!!!

It's not stawmanning it's truth.

We can talk and have deep conversation later OFF the battlefield. ME1's pointless conversations in the middle of a ****ing warzone was the most immersion breaking thing I've seen.:pinched:

Dragon Age was close? Hell no. Dragon Age was a lifeless, empty, uninteresting, hideous mess compared to BG2.

Then again, most games are. ^_~

I do think Planescape torment's dialogue is better than BG2 though.

The repetition of something incorrect does not render it factual.

BG2: You rarely get two dialogue options. The majority is 5+

Have you actually played BG2?

No one's asking for deep conversations.  They're asking to choose the dialogue which they do get.

HAAAA HAHAHAHAHAHAHA you can not be serious, that would be the most distracting un-immersive thing imaginable.  This is literally why I will never take BSN seriously.

Casey Hudson did agree with Hunter here in one of his early ME3 interviews. If you look for the old Confirmed Features thread, you'll find it in a link somewhere.

He specfically said that the amount of options should be relevant to the context.

That's fine.

A video on a battlefield is not good evidence. The citidel would be a better area for that kind of thing.
