Why do you place hearsay above your own eyes? Particularly when the video fits in entirely with what we saw in the Demo.
Awful lot of auto dialogue in the full game...

Right.
In the middle of a warzone it's very immersive if my shepard sits there and talks on philosophy and the meaning of life with Garrus; his most trusted but still mysterious best friend.
Now we will ask Garrus amoungst the debris and destruction his thought on my actions as Shepard and if he truely trusts me whilst innocent Turians die by the truckload.
Yes, very good writing and narrative.<_<

Yeah man, isn't it obvious, this is ACTION mode, where the conversation choices are pre-selected.
If you watched the whole thing he says its an ME2 import, I missed any mention of what mode. Either way, there is plenty of auto dialogue in all modes.

That's a terrible example of "good dialogue choices" from BG2.
Option 1: Shop
Option 2: Banter
Option 3/4: Investigate
Option 5: Goodbye
The kind of thing that you can get from your average NPC in DA, ME, DA2, ME2... There is NOTHING special in that shot.
Sheesh, at least choose a shot of talking with the Pirate King to get into Spellhold or something.

She will have more dialogues if romanced, or if you're starting the romance in ME3 (exclusive to maleshep, it seems).
Like the ME2 had more dialogue if you started the romance in ME3. No room for friendship with LI in ME3 either, it seems. At least for the VS.

Then by all means stick with story mode where story is paramount. RPG mode is more for the player having more choices, more ways to define his or herself in that world and more dialogue chosen by the player for interacting with those around them. If hate all dialogue choices and they get in the way of your shooting and pure story progression with only major choices meaning anything to you then stick with story mode.
Unfortuantely it would seem RPG mode is now replaced with story mode under false name.

You think immersion is going to come from Shepard and Garrus having a discussion about Shepard's past actions while reapers and various forms of husks are closing in around them? You think that's good storytelling? Maybe Garrus could bring it up but a full blown discussion would feel unbelievably out of place.Duncaaaaaan wrote...
