Oh well, the old BioWare RPG's were fun while they lasted. I guess those EA-is-Doom prophets got right for once - and I should've known better after my beloved Command and Conquer.

Command and COnquer 3 was awesome.

Is this any different in Story Mode?
They don't care who their fans are, EA cares about who will become their fans.

sorry, polite, just trying to have your back. Some people just jump into the forum and post without any knowledge of the subject. We are not just getting angry over nothing, we are watching people play the retail copy of the game and it is 90% auto dialogue
FryPanNN wrote...
Polite, I am aware that the past year you were the most vocal person on this forum talking about the auto dialogue. And I had my share of posts as well expressing the same concern. Sent messages to the devs about this, but not a single answer.
I wonder what would've happened if people actually started to talk about the reduced dialogue options, but they were all admired by the quality of Lotsb that we became trolls and haters.
Now, everyone here is disappointed with their precious dialogue taken away.
We've done our part providing our feedback to the devs, but now it is too late.

I thought the arrow to the knee gag was your signature, but I have seen posts of yours where you're just as terse and accusatory as anyone else, and as someone who proclaims politeness it would be more reasonable to take the positive stance on all of these developments, rather than inciting more people to preemptively despair in the downfall of narrative driven games. Apologies for misunderstanding your intent.
It's impossible to keep up with every thread on here. For each new idea or elaboration on a question I was having there's a minefield of spoilers to avoid and people freaking out for dozens of pages. And I occasionally sleep. So yeah, I'd like those links.

Casey Hudson has now retroactively lied when he said that "This is your story, your adventure.", during the Mass Effect E3 06 trailer.

Funny, Da2 actually gives you way more options than ME3 will.Xayoz wrote...
Well. I'm not gonna jump on the QQ wagon before actually giving it a go myself...
Still, I really hope it's not as bad as you guys make it sound.
I would be fine with about anything, apart from them skimping on the 1 aspect I enjoy about rpgs - the ability to rope play MY character.
*Please don't be another DA2*

We're not inciting anything. We're expressing our own concerns while giving people the opportunity to look at the streams and judge for themselves. Again, please read the posts you keep referring to. Additionally, you want us to be positive about something that's detrimental to the Mass Effect experience? Really? What type of reaction do you suggest for those of us who are finding out that the Shepards we invested 100+ hours into will be railroaded into a specific canon character? Happiness?

It's still a story and adventure.
It was never your own to begin with.

If more people had supported the fight against auto dialogue, maybe we wouldn't be having this conversation right now. It's still very disturbing that the final game of the trilogy will have very little control over Shepard, a huge contrast from the previous two games. It will make it incredibly hard to play the first time, and sort of pointless for subsequent playthroughs since 90% of the dialogue will not change. Hope they're happy with their Uncharted version of Mass Effect. I'm sure the fans won't be so welcome to the changes come this Tuesday. I personally think this is the reason they changed the site rules, in anticipation of all of the rage that's going to consume the forums two days from now.

I personally love the Uncharted games, no matter how much I play them, not going to lie. Here's my take on all of this, As long as we have dialogue options, and the game is well written , I'm good to go.
Personally, I think you guys need to take a step back and relax, because you're starting to look like spoiled brats. So what you don't have all of the dialogue options you wanted, this title wasn't made specifically with you in mind.
Mass Effect 3 is going to be a great game, with the three years they put into it, how could it not be?

I respect your opinion on that, But I'll have to disagree with you on it. ME1/ME2 had a tremendous amount of player freedom with crafting Shepard. ME3 does not.

It's the same at most game companies. Look at Nintendo, they made great games for quite a while (and sometimes still do), but it's more and more catering to the mainstream crowd that simply isn't interested in what most of the old crowd craved. And the mainstream has the numbers; any company that is owned by shareholders will have to cater to this crowd - and why shouldn't they, there's the money - BioWare is no exception in this. Their profit goes up - and any given CEO will not choose for some small crowd with specific wishes, but simply for the big and easy bucks.Jacen987 wrote...

Nope, because the crowd they are courting are the mass market who are easily pleased. Which is why I think we'll see at least an annual release of a Mass Effect FPS or TPS to maximize profits *shudders*
