Hi Everyone

Last week we made the first of a series of changes to the BioWare Social Network by updating our site rules & code of conduct. We appreciate those of you who agreed to the new rules and are here helping us make the BioWare Social Network a better place for BioWare fans and staff. The next step in improving the BSN will take place this weekend.

We have now created a Game Owners Forum for people who own Mass Effect 3 to discuss the story and spoilers of Mass Effect 3.  This new forum and the existing Mass Effect 3 forums, except for News & Announcements and General Discussion, will require users to have registered their game in order to be able to create or reply to a thread post.

For Mass Effect 3, game registration on BSN will be handled by detecting that the EA/BSN account you use to login to BSN has the Mass Effect 3 Online Pass associated with it.  The Online Pass is included with every new copy of Mass Effect 3 whether on PC, Xbox 360 or Playstation 3.  You can find instructions on how to activate your Mass Effect 3 Online Pass on any platform in the game registration page.

Please ensure that you are using the same EA account here on BSN as you are for playing Mass Effect 3, and that this is correctly associated to your Xbox Live or PlayStation Network accounts (for console players).  You can view what is associated to your BSN account here on your registered game entitlements page.

[How to register Mass Effect 3, and/or activate Online Pass]
On Xbox 360, Online Pass is activated by taking the separate Mass Effect 3 – Online Pass code, provided on a printed insert inside every Mass Effect 3 – Xbox 360 game box, redeeming that code on the Xbox Live code redemption screen, and then playing the game while logged in at least once.

On PS3 this is activated by taking the separate Mass Effect 3 – Online Pass code, provided on a printed insert inside every Mass Effect 3 – PS3 game box, redeeming that code on the PlayStation Network code redemption screen, and then playing the game while logged in at least once.

On PC, there is no separate Online Pass code. Instead the game registration page of BSN will detect your Mass Effect 3 game on your Origin account and treat this an Online Pass equivalent.

Not everyone who disagrees with the things Bioware is doing are trolls.

However, this isn't a bad idea.

How did you get that from what I posted? I'm talking about the people who create new accounts, never owning the game, just to make troll threads. I'm fine with people who don't like the things Bioware does, as long as they own the game and have something to back up their opinion with.

The seemingly never ending amount of users who call others with dissenting opinions trolls has left me a little jaded, that - and sorry for profiling - but your "Yeeeeees," didn't help me; so I'll apologize here, but even people who don't own the game themselves can make informed arguments about it.

Like World War II, no one here was there (As far as I'm aware.) but I'm sure many of us know a lot about it, and can argue back and forth on it.

Correct, and they can use the non game owners forum. This isn't new, they did the same thing with the ME2 forums too.

Sure, maybe people will see enough footage and hear enough information about the game to actually make informed decisions and arguments about it, but the forum wouldn't be able to differentiate between the common troll and the informed nay-sayer, so it's probably for the best to just not let anyone who doesn't own the game into this new forum.

Well, I'm screwed.

My Xbox and BSN/Origin don't use the same e-mails and because some of my EA content is somehow "registered" to the XBL e-mail, I can't change anything.

Sounds good.

I'd ask that you wait a bit to switch over the older forums, however. I'd like to continue discussing ME 3, but my copy might take 2-4 business days to arrive. Maybe a week of leniency?

Sadly, we can still read those forums.

I think.

No, just a special forum section where you've no chance of seeing them. They'll still be all over the place in the other sections.

Less a cure than a vaccination, then.

When will this automatic activation go into effect? Asking, because I don't see ME3 on the game registration page.

I would assume when the new forum actually exists, which it doesn't yet.

This same..my Xbox Live account have nothing with EA/BSN account....well I think, it's not a big problem.. I have only one question..Will I have to connect my Xbox on-line everytime I want to play Mass Effect 3 ( I will play only SP while Im not interesting in multiplayer) or it's only for one time for online pass?

Will you be adding a ME3 background to the forum Chris? I know currently we can change our backgrounds to DA or ME2......But I just wondered if you were going to put a ME3 one in.

Edit: Nevermind...I see new forum themes for ME3 installed now!  COOL!!!!  :o

Thanks!
