It's rather like saying 'buy our product or keep out'. Forum DLC, lol.
While I would not have phrased it this way, this is basically correct. I do not hide from it. Using these forums is a priviledge, not a right. For a very long time we have had people treat these forums as they want to treat them. We want people to treat our forums the way we want them to be treated. This doesn't mean censorship. This doesn't mean only positive posts allowed. This means we give special consideration to the people who buy our games from us and give them forums to express their likes, and dislikes, about our product.
I am sorry some of you are inconvenienced possibly 4 days by not being able to post in some of the forums. This can easily be regained once you register your copy.
I like the 'from us' bit. Because it's not just buying the game that gets you access, but rather having to have the online pass also, isn't it? Thus, those that buy it used (still game owners) can't join the game owners forum if the original owner has used the online pass, but not registered the game.

You have to register your game from the 'My Games' menu.
Okay, second attempt at posting this.....Have Xbox360 CE, put disc in last night, entered Online Pass, downloaded extras, started playing while connected. This morning I still can't post (except here).
So, do you mean that we need to still register the game the "old" way as well as following the instructions that Chris posted in the OP?? Not a problem if I do, but maybe it should be listed in the instructions.
*BTW, yes, account used through XBL/Origin/BSN is the same.
*EDIT*
Just went to the "My Games" and hit the "Register game" for ME3 Xbox360, and it worked. Can post on the whole site now.
So, just remember to do the above, and it should work.

Don't miss the ability to post in the spoilers section (staying well clear of those) but it would be nice to post in the technical forum maybe?

I definitely will be waiting a couple months before I even consider giving another cent to Bioware or EA. I completely understand that this site is the property of EA/Bioware and you can run it as you see fit. Those who cry freedom of speech and censorship don't seem to understand ownership. Though I suppose that is because when they buy a game they are told they can only do with it as EA sees fit and they really are just renting it from the company. I mean we can't have people who don't have a lot of money wasting your time, those silly people who buy used games. I also know that my hard earned cash is mine which will stay mine until Bioware remembers its roots. I know, what is 60 bucks to a machine like EA?
You've moved in a new direction and I just wasn't willing to follow you in that direction. I know, a voice in a sea of others what does it matter? Nothing, you're right. But apparently it's enough to block everyone who didn't tow the line and fork over the cash right out of the gate. I forked over my 60 bucks early for DA2 and got burned and you expect me to just jump into this unknown? I can't ask people questions in the gameplay forum, the story forum, any forum really, just the general discussion forum and you guys are pretty lockdown happy here. But your site, I know, just kind of sad to see Bioware turn into this type of machine.

As I predicted, Bioware is turning these forums into a marketing tool and to hell with anyone who isn't on board with promoting their products for them.
I used to be a member of the community, now I'm just a guy who didn't "pay for a license" for ME3.

It's kinda Catch 22 (and a little braindead imo) if you need to be registered in order to ask about technical issues, only you can't 'coz you've got technical issues and can't register.

Haha yeeeeees, anti-troll ftw.
Not everyone who disagrees with the things Bioware is doing are trolls.
However, this isn't a bad idea.
I agree with the first part and disagree with the second.
Stuff like this is why I am unable to post to the ToR forums despite having purchased a hard-copy of the game.
It's rolling with the idea that everything works perfect, when flaws indeed do occur, especially in software design for companies like EA. At least SOME of the forums are still open for 'generic' users, unlike the ToR forums where you can't even post in the support forum (of all things...) if there is a problem with your account access or registration...
It seems more and more like EA are just trying to 'shine up' thigns and hide away their ugly flaws, tbh.

Chris, I love how you guys go into discussions here in the general section and lock them down and then tell everyone to go discuss it in a forum that is locked to those that haven't bought or registered the game. A little disingenuous but we aren't concerned about that are we? We don't want another DA2 on our hands, now do we?
What's the problem with that, exactly? Anyone who wants to complain about the game can complain about it. It's not like there are tons of copies for rent at the moment.
Sure, if you want to post ill-informed rants about something you haven't actually played you can do it here, and then get the thread locked. But if you've got something to say and you know what you're talking about, you can do that.

Even if you're a long-time customer who has purchased many Bioware products, if you haven't paid the geld for ME3, notified them that you have it, and surrendered access to your computer via Origin, they don't want and don't care about anything you have to say about ME3.

Funny -- I could have sworn I read this post on BSN. I thought they'd thrown you out of the community, or something.
I guess I'm really just not getting it.

Maybe you didn't read my post correctly. Yes, we can discuss the game here but if it mentions gameplay, story, or characters, the mods come in and send everyone to the Registered only forums. I have seen many of these locked threads. No one trolling, no one insulting, but talking about the game and they get locked. But since now I have your permission maybe I will go create an ill-informed thread and get it locked, you know for gits and shiggles.AlanC9 wrote...

If you haven't registered a copy of ME3, you can't post on most of the ME3 forums and threads.

Anyone who wants to register their game should eb able to do so. All the detail is on your profiles here
Apparently I must be pants-on-head retarded, because nothing I could find on that link or any of the other pages it links to have worked for me. I spent hours earlier today looking through ea's help forums and googling the problem but the advice I've found is either:
1)Make sure your gamertag attached to your BSN account is the same as the one you're playing ME3 on, etc...well I don't have my gamertag linked and I don't know how to link it
2)Download a demo with online capabilities and use it to log into EA/ find the right gamertag/something-The screen it says will pop up where you can put in your info never does.
It shouldn't be so hard to register a game, why can't I just put in my registration code like in the old days? 3DStudioMax was easier to figure out than this problem D:

It would be a lot better if you just let us type in our registration code like before.
Which did not work for Xbox or PS3 users since the UPC codes were the same.
