Hi Everyone

We will be creating a Game Owners Forum for people who own Mass Effect 3 to discuss the game.  This new forum and many of the existing Mass Effect 3 forums will require users to have registered their game in order to be able to create or reply to a thread post.

This one is pleased.

So basically, you're starting "damage control" policy, like you did with Dragon Age 2?

Yep.

Standard operating procedure for Bioware at this point.

So this place is gonna become a biodrones only zone. Getting rid of the pesky critics and boycott instigators.

No prob, I'm outa here.

Not necessarily.  You might just be a slow learner.

Or a masochist.

Soo...
I can't be a normal guy who buys a game to play it for a while, then throw it away after finish with it and move to a different game?

No middle point here?
No?

I think the game-owners forum sounds like a great idea.

You're right, I'm very sorry.  I will amend my list of reasons to buy Bioware's games, and add "low expectations".

Don't mind limiting main forum to game owners.
My question is when does this new forum go live. Can't see the date listed?
Will european users be banned from posting on the forum because they get their copies later?

They did the same thing with ME2 , nothing new here.

Critics don't buy games? You have to be a "biodrone" to own a game?

If anything, only those who own the game are the ones a company should listen to. I've lost track of how often I've heard people go "da2 sucks" only to notice they haven't even played the game when I ask them what they didn't like. If you want to give constructive criticism and say where you believe a developer has gone wrong, surely you need to have played their game. Just like you can't say a film is bad before you watch it. Or that a track of music is subpar if you don't listen to it, etc etc.

If anything, if you want a good and informed discussion, this is exactly where you want to be! =)

Just because you didn't register the game on the forums doesn't mean you don't own it.

After seeing that people were getting banned for criticism (and subsequently were unable to even play because of that ban) I decided not to register my CE edition.

For Mass Effect 3, game registration on BSN will be handled by detecting that the EA/BSN account you use to login to BSN has the Mass Effect 3 Online Pass associated with it.  The Online Pass is included with every new copy of Mass Effect 3 whether on PC, Xbox 360 or Playstation 3.  You can find instructions on how to activate your Mass Effect 3 Online Pass on any platform in the game registration page.

[How to register Mass Effect 3, and/or activate Online Pass]

On PC, there is no separate Online Pass code. Instead the game registration page of BSN will detect your Mass Effect 3 game on your Origin account and treat this an Online Pass equivalent.

When will this automatic activation go into effect? Asking, because I don't see ME3 on the game registration page.

My guess:

*shrugs* I've voiced my opinion on lots of things I don't agree with in numerous BW games, I just choose not to word myself offensively, according to the terms of service I accepted upon registration. I believe it's been said many, many times that it's often not about what you say but how you say it that gets you in trouble. If you keep the tone you're using here, I'm sure you have nothing to fear.

Well, I'm screwed.

My Xbox and BSN/Origin don't use the same e-mails and because some of my EA content is somehow "registered" to the XBL e-mail, I can't change anything.

Hmmm, haven't needed to use it myself as I created my Origin account on the same hotmail account I was previously using for nothing but XBL, but could you not just change your origin email, as outlined here?

Those rules aren't actually new.  They're just being given more emphasis now.  And besides, under the "old" rules they reserved the right to ban anyone for anything at anytime anyway.
