Well, I'm screwed.

My Xbox and BSN/Origin don't use the same e-mails and because some of my EA content is somehow "registered" to the XBL e-mail, I can't change anything.

Hmmm, haven't needed to use it myself as I created my Origin account on the same hotmail account I was previously using for nothing but XBL, but could you not just change your origin email, as outlined here?

It won't let me. :/ I think somehow the xbox linked that e-mail to EA for the games I have even though I've never registered an account that I know of using it, so it's coming up as already in use/unable to change when I try. :/

Wait, so I've signed in on a different email here on BSN than on my EA account, and you can't change it since it sign on automatically with the other email. How am I supposed to change it so I can post on the forums here?

On my EA account? Well there are two separate accounts, one on the BSN email, and one on EA. Can I delete the EA account?

Well, if nothing else, this will let us know who actually canceled preorders and who didn't. :)

Lovely idea! I can't wait, perhaps this will eliminate some of the nonsense that has been spreading in the forums :/

So this place is gonna become a biodrones only zone. Getting rid of the pesky critics and boycott instigators.

No prob, I'm outa here.

Critics don't buy games? You have to be a "biodrone" to own a game?

If anything, only those who own the game are the ones a company should listen to. I've lost track of how often I've heard people go "da2 sucks" only to notice they haven't even played the game when I ask them what they didn't like. If you want to give constructive criticism and say where you believe a developer has gone wrong, surely you need to have played their game. Just like you can't say a film is bad before you watch it. Or that a track of music is subpar if you don't listen to it, etc etc.

If anything, if you want a good and informed discussion, this is exactly where you want to be! =)

A strange logic you do endorse here. According to that I have to rape someone to be against raping, or I'll have to poison the planet before I'm allowed to demonstrate against the pollution of our world.

And, of course, I'll have to first order "From Ashes" to be allowed to voice my disgust about cutting pieces from the game, only to sell these pieces for an extra buck.

So yeah, I can imagine why BW dont't want me anymore around here.

So... if I buy a game from Bioware, I'm a mindless husk
O:

Not necessarily.  You might just be a slow learner.

Or a masochist.

Soo...
I can't be a normal guy who buys a game to play it for a while, then throw it away after finish with it and move to a different game?

No middle point here?
No?

You're right, I'm very sorry.  I will amend my list of reasons to buy Bioware's games, and add "low expectations".

im trying to hold my tears, ill miss you all so much...

Imo this is a great decision, Bioware has no bussiness paying attention to people that dont even buy their products. Its OUR money that keeps bioware going they should listen to us first.

Two lines trying to convey the same information:

- "I didn't find much of the script salvageable. The themes are inconsistent in spots X and Y, and I sadly did not feel any sympathy in scene Z because of factor A. They should have spent more time refining the writing."
- "We should off [writer]/[producer] for making such a blight of a game." (yes, things like that -were- said for something like two months following the release of da2)

If your post is found to be closer to the second statement, then yes, you're in trouble. And no, that is no criticism, that's so much more than that. Moreover, it barely even touches upon the script itself or what problems you had with it. I've yet to see a single person banned over saying anything remotely similar to the first line. Heck you don't need to choose your words half as delicately as I did just to prove my point.

All you need is some common sense, really. If you're feeling winded up and/or angry when you're posting, you should likely not be giving out criticism just yet. Leave the computer and come back when you've cooled down. You'll see nobody will kick you off the boards and the developers listen to you more as well. Not to mention it's better for your health to remain calm! Win/win/win situation, the way I see it =)

I mean... as funny as the Angry Video Game Nerd is, we all recognise that's not how a professional review should look, right?

Dude, what are you trying to tell us, what in god's name has this to do with the actual thread ???

Mogonk, how is it that if the mods are sooooo draconian with critics, you're still (un)happily posting away?

Sooner or later I'll slip up.  Like, hypothetically, if I had been banned on a previous account (I wasn't) it might have been for saying "David Gaider is a freaking child whose idea of romance is based on Twilight" (I never said that). However true that might be.  Or untrue. I take no position as to the truth of that statement.  In fact I suspect it to be false.  I'm certain that it's false, and I would never say something like that.  Only a terrible person (like David Gaider) would say something like that.

What the hypothetical person who is not me SHOULD have said is "the writing in Dragon Age is slightly less awesome than I would have preferred".  That's the sort of criticism they tolerate.  Or at least don't ban you for.

The extent to which they censor criticism and silence critics will vary directly with the extent to which they are criticized.  If one person comes on the forum and starts raving about how Mac Walters should rot in hell, they won't do much.  If 20 people do it, they will start closing every critical thread they see and banning the people who started them.  If 100 people do it, they will ban everyone who posts in those threads for any reason other than to declare their undying love for Mac Walters.

That's how they roll.

I wish they had gotten rid of you already, that arrogance...

See you after the 6th, or not :wizard:

What's wrong with you?  You know this is a company trying to sell a product.  This forum isn't a bastion for free speech.  Why is that hard to grasp?  If you want unbiased discourse, go to a third party forum and talk about things there.  This is simply a marketing arm for the company.

And, you are being melodramatic.  I have seen other game companies moderate their forums MUCH more autocratically than Bioware.  Creative Assembly, anyone?

I think the lame "From Ashes" moanfest being allowed to reach almost 500 pages kind of blows your point out of the water.

May I ask what country are coming from ? North Korea, Iran, China, Syria ?

No disrespect, just curious.

It actually will. If ever spent much time on the registered section of the DA2 forums you can see that same result.

I know you from the ex origin threads as biodrone and €A watchdog. So, once more for the slower ones, no way in hell I will buy this game - as long as €A/BW doesn't come to its senses (pretty unlikely).

Good for you and opinion noted, have a nice day and hope you find a game you like instead. B)
