Yeah, I'm hoping this will be an easy answer for Chris or anyone, but I'll PM later this afternoon if he's not seen it by then.  I tend to think that after these threads get too long, the comments understandably become white noise.

So, maybe a stupid question, but the wording in the OP leads me to believe that for the PC version, game registration is auto-detected. Yet all the owner-required forums are locked. Do I have to register it manually on the site?

...or am I jumping the gun a little? (I also just started preloading, so its still downloading, does that matter?)

I can't post in the multiplayer forum either. I think this is short sighted because the multiplayer demo is available to all and many wish to discuss it. I myself was just posting in threads the other day (and would like to continue those discussions).

Dito. The Character/Romance thread should be available again. We Europs have to wait till 3/8 or 3/9 (depending on shipping) and won't be able to add a single posting in the Characters thread. I guess I don't have to tell you that discussion the characters is important to character fans.

This General Discussion forum and the News & Annoucnements forums remail open to all, but all other Mass Effect 3 forums will require Game Registration in order to post. We are doing this to make the ME3 forums a place for game owners to discuss the game with fellow game owners as well as BioWare developers.

Seriously - ME2 reg should be enough for access too. I pre-ordered the CE. So I have to wait a full set of work days until I can post again in my fave characters thread?

Chris, I'm not just talking for myself here. There are a lot more Europs, Asians and Australians out there than Canadians or US Americans. Do you really want them to post in the Generic Discussions Thread about Characters, Love Interests & co?

Just asking. Better close General Discussions Forums and re-open Characters Forums to keep the forum working.

I think it's fair to say we understand the concept Chris but instigating the changes before many of us can physically own the game effectively renders us with nowhere to post. Sure we can use the old ME2 threads but are we then going to get told off for discussing ME3? 

And what about talking to our US friends? They will be posting in the correct place whereas we will be for ed elsewhere, it gives us fewer people to discuss the game with.

Since my save files is on a different EA account, I'm wondering if I can register with the new EA account here, and on the other BSN account to play the game.

I doubt it but I feel your pain. I'm on the phone with EA right now to switch my gamertag but they're saying my DOB is incorrect. What a nightmare.
