Problem with Amazon Pre-Order Install

Now I'm at a point where I can download the game from origin if I want but I just pulled the files from Amazon's site (almost 10GB) and would not want to waste bandwidth downloading it twice.
Is there something going on with either Origin or is there a step I am missing? Any insight or suggestions would be appreciated, thank you.

If a Bioware rep says that just extracting the file to a new folder in origin will work, then I'll do that, but I'd like to confirm that with someone from Bioware first..

I had this issue with origin games and amazon in the past, what you need to do is go to origin games under program files, create a folder named Mass effect 3. Then what you need to do is open the folder that you downloaded from amazon and there should be Zip archive named Masseffect 3 just extract that to the folder that you just created in origin games. Then restart origin.
I just wanted to point out that this works, however if you changed where you install your Origin games then you need to create the Mass Effect 3 folder in there. After that the steps are the same as Banex423 has. You can find out where you are installing your games under the settings option in Origin (click on the little Gear tab to find the settings).
This may help some, who like me never had a Origin Games folder in Program Files and creating one didn't help solve the problem install problem.
Also you can find out your CD keys by going to your amazon.com account and looking under your "Games & Software Library". It should have your Mass effect 3 pre-order there and your keys should be listed there as well.

Ok, so where exactly do you make the ME3 folder? I have both an 'Origin' folder and a seperate 'Origin Games' folder under my Program Files(x86). I have the ME3 Demo in my 'Origin Games' file and the demo works, so I'm guessing it should go in there, but I just want to clarify so I don't mess this up, lol.
Also, is it nessasary to put the entire ME3 download into the file or just the unzipped big file?

1. Have the download from amazon (around 10 gigs)
2. Try to install and get error (You will have redeemed your key and everything. You should now have Mass Effect 3 tied to your account).
3. Close Origin and go into your Program Files Folder (may be the x86 if you have 64bit) and locate the folder called Origin Games (ignore the one called Origin).**
4. Create a Folder called Mass Effect 3 inside Origin Games**
5. Open the amazon Mass effect 3 download folder (should have several files and folders, ignore them) and extract the "masseffect 3.zip" into the mass effect 3 folder you just created. The Mass Effect 3 folder inside of Origin Games should now contain several folders and files.
6. Relaunch Origins and it should have changed from needing to download to "ready to install"
** This step is different if you have changed where Origin installs your games at. For example I changed mine to install into a directory called Games in my C: Drive. If you did that then you create the Mass Effect 3 folder in whatever directory Origin is installing your games at and not in the Origin Games folder.

Thanks muchos. I'm all installed, including both DLCs I can install right now.
Follow these steps peoples if you're having this issue. And email Amazon so they know to have better instructions.

Maybe that's why the Amazon install method did not work.
After unzipping the leeme.txt file was empty (0 bytes). I don't think that's a problem but I just substituted the (already uncompressed) leeme.txt file found in the Amazon (/support/readme/) folder. I'll also note that the two files have slightly different names, the one in the zip has an accent mark over the "e", I kept the name found in the zip (when unzipped) and just pasted the text from the file in the Amazon folder into the file in the (now uncompressed) install folder.
After restarting the Origin app, the icon showed "ready to install" but I didn't even press the button, a couple of seconds later the button went gray then disappeared (It might have briefly said "ready to play"). I redeemed the M55 and it didn't need downloading, it was already installed (meaning it was part of the main game download). The two DLC items (Collector's Ed. and From Ashes) then downloaded automatically.
Still, the Art and Soundtrack items say "unreleased". Probably not available till release day.

I was wondering about that, how do we redeem the M55? I have the product-key for it, but I have no clue how to redeem it.

Run Origin, sign in.
At the top right side of the Origin window you should see a "cog" (a gear) next to your name. Click it, in the list you should see "Redeem Product Code", click that.

Just quick question, this preloading from amazon is only for those who bought the digital version?
I would assume that if you're getting a physical copy, all of this is entirely sidestepped on account of not needing to download anything. I've had some experience with physical copies and steam games, I'd assume Origin works along similar lines.

Thank you sooooo much!
I have a terrible internet connection so it took me days just to get the digital deluxe downloaded the first time! This saved me from having to download it all over again through Origin. Allow me to be a little dramatic and say you guys are some lifesavers on this forum.
Would've killed me to wait even longer than launch day!!!
