I would assume that if you're getting a physical copy, all of this is entirely sidestepped on account of not needing to download anything.  I've had some experience with physical copies and steam games, I'd assume Origin works along similar lines.

in steam you can just copy the cdkey of the physical copy and download it.

problem is.. my physical copy is still on the way (Im in another country)
so wait until amazon ships it, then to import it.. its a loong wait

Wish this procedure had worked for me.  I copied the files over to the Mass Effect 3 Folder I created, unzipped and then restarted origins.  Which then promptly erased everything - and no its not in roaming.  So now I'm downloading - AGAIN.  Thanks EA for your absolutely brain-dead code.  Ticked doesn't even begin to describe how I feel about EA.
