This really wasn't needed and I can't believe you are carrying the increased rates into live as well.

The new drops rates are way too high. I get a gold or silver in every single box.

Vet is SUPPOSED to guarantee uncommon or better.

Awesome news! Maybe I con finally unlock that Asari adept ...

Also, thanks for a really fun few weeks with the demo. As a previous poster said, with only two maps and other limitations, this was a *lot* of fun. Can't wait to see what the full game will be.

I really did like the demo. The lag was kinda bad at times, but the great gameplay overshadowed that. It was really great because it captured that feeling of camaraderie that I felt playing the single-player Mass Effect. I was thinking about something cool. I was thinking maybe it'd be cool if you guys added special packs for purchase with real money. Perhaps in these packs they would have really good guns and a slight chance to win an established character. I realize this mode is meant to exsit outside the main game, but I think it would be really cool to be able to run around as Miranda Lawson, or Tali, or even someone like Conrad Verner. There would only be a small chance for one of these Major Characters though, so when you do see someone playing as, say, Garrus, you actually are in awe. Just a little idea I had.

I'd rather have the rare weapons more often in the packs. I just bought 30 veteran packs after a long session of gold matches and had a gold char in almost all of them and didn't need any of those.

Nice to hear the adjustment will be in the full version, too. I already have just about everything in the demo.

Very charitable, and much appreciated.

It can never be said that Bioware does not listen to its customers.

Thanks for this tweak.

I've not really had a problem unlocking characters; as Korjyan pointed out above though, on the previous drop rates, it seemed to require possibly months of effort to max out a gold weapon.. unless you get to play 6 hours a day or whatever. This will obviously get a little tougher in retail because there is more to unlock, too. Removing some of the equipment grind can only be a good thing, I think.

Hi everyone!

We hope you’ve been having a great time with the multiplayer demo for Mass Effect 3. If you haven’t had an opportunity to try it out, don’t miss your chance: this weekend is the final weekend of the multiplayer preview and the servers will be taken offline on the morning (PST) of Monday, March 5.  The Single-player demo will continue to be available.

We also wanted to let everyone know that we’ve been listening to your feedback, and during the final weekend of the multiplayer demo we will be increasing the chances of unlocking rare race/class combinations. This adjustment to unlocks will carry forward into the main game.

Finally, for a little taste of the amazing multiplayer content coming when the game releases on March 6, make sure you check out the Integrated Co-Op Multiplayer page on www.masseffect.com, where we’ve uploaded panoramic screenshot galleries from a number of new multiplayer maps! :)

Chris,
On a scale of 1-10 how much does MP seriously help in getting a better ending?
...

Are we still asking that question?

Also, guess it's time to start working for that Quarian again...

Oh Dear. Why don't you ask yourself a question.
Does everybody on the forum know every single minute detail about Mass Effect 3?
No.

Has been announced in the FAQ, the initial announcement, several smaller interviews, and been confirmed many times on the forums that the optimal ending can be achieved without touching multiplayer, and that multiplayer only has an impact on the outcome if you choose to import your characters?
Yes.

See thats what i dont fully understand. i just wanted chris to reaffirm my questions. what is the difference between ending and outcome?

They are the same.

You'll have a war assets bar that you will be managing and filling up. You fill this up by doing sidequests and planet scanning. Mulitplayer is nothing more than another method to fill the bar. That's about all we know.=]

Wait... but what if I want to play the multiplayer AND also do all the sidequests and planet scanning? I don't want the MP to shortern my singleplayer experience. Should I play the SP first and then the MP?

do we still get a characters excisting history. my turian is level 17 sentiel I don't want to loose what I earned plus why is the dlcs only available for the PC & Xbox 360. it doesn't make sense when ps3 also has multiplayer for mass effect unless your already going to add that because of the bluray.

Seriously is it that hard to understand? The MP campaign is not at the expense of the SP campaign. Playing MP is not going to shorten your SP experience.

Let's say that each side quest or each MP character promoted fills up this bar by 10%, even if you hit 100% before you completed 10 side quests because you played MP a lot it doesn't mean that you can't do the last side quests left... Obviously they are not going to make the galaxy readier if you already maxed that bar but nothing keeps you from running them.

MP is nothing but a different way to fill this bar, that's all.

I'm just amazed at this kind of question...

All I need now is a Turian sentinel, an Asari adept, Drell vanguard and Quarian engineer and I'm all good. Thanks BioWare. I cannot wait any longer!

...so, does that mean we don't keep our unlocks from demo to full?
If so: "Goodby krogan i just unlocked today, goodby Widow.  I'll miss you! *sniffle + single tear*"  Took so long to get the krogan, getting one again is gonna be another rough wait!

Very cool on the increased drop rate. And if anyone really thinks they've now made character unlocks too frequent, don't worry--the devs can always dial it back again, to some in-between point. I'm just really happy to see Bioware engaging early and often with their dedicated fans. A lot of the release day bugs and subsequent PR kerfluffle on Dragon Age 2 burned some goodwill, but the ME3 run-up to launch has been great--femshep trailer, deep multiplayer demo, lots of feedback, and so on. Thumbs way up.

Interesting that BW can change what drops with a server-side alteration.

Though it's not really a change in what drops, it's an addition to what drops. Veteran packs contain exactly what they contained before, plus one additional rare.

It appears the additional item is resolved server-side, and appended to the items that are rolled client-side.
(the right-most item in your veteran pack is the bonus item that is being rolled server-side)

This might be an indication that pack redemptions in the full game are going to be handled entirely server-side.

Always capitulating to forum demands, Bioware. Now people will have nearly everything unlocked by week's end. Good job shortening multiplayer's lifespan.

We're monitoring that kind of thing. The drop rates will be adjusted again if necessary. Basically the goal is balance. The previous drop rate was proving to be a little "harsher" than we intended.

It was a really good run. I had a lot of fun with friends over XBox Live, made new friends, and raged at people who didn't have mics and who ****ed up on the Full Extraction bonus.

All in all I was really happy. Looking forward to the full release. Until then, so long and thanks for all the fish!

Love the demo. Still HATE HATE HATE the random unlocks. Learn a lesson from the successful multiplayers out there. You buy what you want with your XP, not buy a pack and hope for the best.
