Also, as with any game, a handful of weapons will be discovered to be the "best," and word will spread to everyone - leading to everyone using the same guns simply because they are the most efficient. This will be incredibly easy to discern when everyone has the "X" level of every gun, destroying the variety that this multiplayer component brings.
As it stands now, its hard to say A is better than B, because we are comparing "This Gun X" to "That Gun II." This, in my opinion, is how it should be. Maxed, powerful weapons should be hard hard to come by. Obviously there has to be a balance - it shouldn't be impossible, and high upgrades should be a result of playtime, but you also shouldn't have every single upgrade unlocked in a few weeks.
You should have a "Holy ***! Carnifex!" reaction rather than "Oh, another Carnifex." (Obviously it will be different weapons in the full game)
I'm probably just running my mouth, because I know Bioware is aware of both sides and will nail the sweet spot.
