Saving all of Cerberus crew and progressing squad dialogue after endgame?

I'm currently under the impression that, in order to save all of the Cerberus crew (meaning, the peons and people like Kelly, Gabby, and Ken) I need to go into the Omega 4 relay right after either the Reaper IFF mission or Legion's loyalty mission directly following it. Doing anything more increases the number of crew who die during the Suicide Mission. This poses the problem of not being able to progress through all of Legion's dialogue.

So my question is: with the advent of the multiple DLC mission packs that have the ability to fall into the lore after the Suicide Mission (Shadow Broker and Arrival), if I do them after the Suicide Mission, will they count towards "progressing" dialogue for the squad? Even better: can I complete a perfect Suicide Mission (everyone, including all Cerberus crew, surviving) without completing all N7 side missions, and then do those between post-Suicide Mission and DLC packs to progress squad dialogue, and then complete DLC packs and have it all log into the save ready to transfer over to ME3?

I hope my question isn't too confusing. I would appreciate any input. Thanks in advance.

You actually progress squad dialogue every time you get off the Normandy. This means you can basically visit a hub world for two seconds and come back to advance it.

And as long as you have most of the loyalty missions completed (you can skip Legion's or Zaeed's and still be fine, just don't have them do anything important), you can do the suicide mission and any side quest whenever you want and still have everyone survive.

At first I thought this as well, but I've tried just hopping off the ship on Omega and the Citadel in order to progress through Samara's and Legion's dialogue, and it isn't working. I had no more missions left to do other than Packages for Ish, and not even that, at any part of all of its hub-hopping length, moved the conversations forward. I found one N7 Mission I missed, completed that, and sure enough they became chatty again, though there's still at least one more progression for Samara and possibly one for Legion.

I ignored it, did the Suicide Mission anyway, and remembered halfway through that the time I spent between the crew abduction and the Suicide Mission directly relates to crew deaths. Back when ME2 came out, I played it religiously and learned every detail regarding how the plot system works, but picked it up again a few weeks ago after over a year of not playing it in order to prepare for ME3 and create my ideal playthrough, and now here I am, bothered that I overlooked this little aspect; I really like the minor crew members, as they make the ship feel much more alive.

Luckily, I have over 40 saved games under this particular playthrough, but unluckily, I did the Reaper IFF mission immediately when it became available in order to pick Legion up ASAP, so now I'm weighing whether or not I should spend the rest this weekend replaying half the game, plus all the DLC I haven't ever played, or just roll with the consequences of my inattention to details.
