Finished the pre-load.  Hit launch, I know I can't play yet but what the hell right?  It says that:

"The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running.  Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."

I played ME2 on this same computer no problems, no updates.  Will this go away when the game launches or is there some tinkering needed? I have a 64 bit system.

The Origin team has just released an update to fix the release control problem. If you are experiencing this issue please right click on your game in the Origin library and select "Check For Update." This should fix this issue.
