I think Bioware got the endings of ME2 and ME3 mixed around since you know, ME2 had a happy ending where in ME3 it's just downright depressing.
Exactly, the FIRST DEATH was cheap and insignificant, Shepard didn't even die fighting. He got spaced. His SECOND DEATH(lol!) is actually more meaningful but no longer befitting the character's story arc. Again, you already killed your hero once, and resurrected him so that he could come back and vanquish the villian.
Killing Shepard again is more than a little redundant.

It's not something that you would expect from a seasoned writing team. This is the kind of stuff you'd see in a daytime soap opera or something. A character keeps dying and resurrecting over and over again. lol
It's just poor story telling, and the Jesus reference isn't going to save it. Shepard ALREADY DIED ONCE, killing him twice is ridiculous. It's amatuer stuff.
Killing a character twice isn't necessarily a bad thing. Possibly not the best thing to some people, but definitely not the worst thing ever. In my opinion, the Jesus reference somewhat justifies some of the endings somewhat. I think that, maybe we have been misreading the story a bit.

Yeah, but the thing about Jesus is, after his death, his disciples went out and...did stuff. They made a religion. They weren't stranded on some island out in the Atlantic with a self-contained ecosystem where they were forced to inbreed until mankind reinvented ships.

Well, Jesus might have died once, but he's coming back, remember? Book of Revelation, New Testament? Shepard died and came back. The analogy fits.

Shepard had many other admirers - chiefly, the people of all of those starships that now orbit the Earth post-battle. They will likely settle on Earth and rebuild.

Your Jesus reference is off anyway, he doesn't die TWICE. And in that sense you're actually making my argument for me. Jesus' resurrection is about his OVERCOMING DEATH, not succumbing to it a SECOND TIME.

If he died only ONCE then the analogy would fit.
And after dying TWICE, Shepard is NOT coming back a 3rd time. So these Jesus references are insane.

i was absolutely repulsed by the inital leaks. from those bink vids, this is not the ending we need, nor the ending we deserve. but with the right context, then maybe, just maybe, BW might just be able to show us the sweet in bittersweet. A final moment before the grand finale...a farewell to comrades and friends, a last goodbye to the loved ones, a farewell to arms... oh wait

I find the endings pretty happy.
All this whining just because fanboys can't see their Shepard marry Liara/Tali.
