Not great, it's mroe a short rant about the leak and how magically no one is covering it in the video game media more than reviews the game, but I found it interesting.

Thanks for posting that, Baron. Interesting to see the reactions outside of BSN.

I believe the business term for this is called: "Covering your a**".

I'd do the same thing too if one of my game divisions made a "franchise-killing"ending(s) to one of my marquis game series.

It has been very discouraging to see how little notice this has been given in the so-called gaming press. I'll refrain from speculating, but I am curious as to which review sites BSN members look to for game reviews.

I've found RPS to be generally reliable, along with Game Banshee, but I'm wondering who the rest of you look to for reliable reviews?

Whose reviews are you looking toward to?

Yatzee's!

It'll be negative, positive, scoreless, and hilarious all at the same time.

In fact I'll go ahead and post his ME1 & 2 reviews:

To be honest, the review I'm looking forward to is Yatzee's over at The Escapist, since it will at least make me laugh.

The gaming press doesn't care because they're not morons and wouldn't cover stories about speculative leaked endings without proper context.

I wonder if the reason the media sites don't post anything is because it's relevant to the endings - something they can't speak on without getting backlash from Bioware.

Once the game is out, we'll get a better picture of what people think.

Now, remember, the aggregate score for DA2 was lower than DAO. That does show that not all reviewers are paid hacks.

Gaming media isn't supposed to take things like that as fact whether the companies are covering their backsides or not. At best a responsible media outlet would do a speculative rumor article.

As it should be. Otherwise we'd have more Rita Skeeters running around Realityland than we already do.

If it isn't a review, then it isn't even a semi-review. At best it's an impressions article based on secondhand accounts.

I agree with about 90% of Yahtzee says, and that's more than any other reviewer out there who actually takes an opinion or a stance on the thing they're reviewing.

Yet they had no problem talking about the script leak, which was chock full of spoilers, and also likely to generate wrath from EA/Bioware.  I suppose they had a slight loophole in that it wasn't the "final-final" version (*eyeroll*), but still.  In this case, they wouldn't have to report on the endings themselves, or make any judgement about the endings, they could just report on the fan reaction.  They sure as heck did for the Deception hullaballoo (they just luvved making fun of us BSN uber-nerds).

Whatevs, I'm sure the articles will start to flow once the fan rage gets in full swing next week.

Its Skyrim all over the gaming press do not want to discuss the fact that Bioware has failed this time around . It was only after that PS3 players started making a sh** storm about Skyrim . sites took notice but in the end awarded it GOTY .

It's a corporate mentality. Editors don't like running anything that makes advertisers look bad.

Do you have proof of Biowares failure?

DA2?  The sheer volume of rage that is being produced?  I'm told something called 4chan actually exploded...

Actually the majority of consumers enjoyed DA2 (I didn't), it was the fans on BIoWare that had a majority that hated it.

sales figures discount that statement.  Also many reviewers even mentioned that it was not as good as DA:O.  Yes there were improvements made to gameplay that many liked, but many core things (story, characters, etc.) were trashed.

read the endings and how utterly pointless it makes the story in 3. They didn't fail they just have no story telling skills at all

Irrelevant, 4chan is always exploding, it's a hive of fanatic trolls.

The only evidence you have is personal opinion. Oh wait, that isn't evidence.  Play the damn game before spouting nonsense.

"read the endings and how utterly pointless it makes the story in 3. They didn't fail they just have no story telling skills at all"

You and others are trying to put together a puzzle that you don't have all the pieces for, wait until you have all the pieces before passing judgement.

We have the leaked script, the destruction videos, and pictures of the uncharted planet. that's enough pieces.

It's still very rare for me to find people not on this forum that didn't like it.

And you'd have toa lso be able to check the online sales as well.
