They could have taken it to the witcher 2 level of the sex, but then people would start complaining. OMG too much sex!
That would be too far for Mass Effect. I can't help but chuckle when Bioware keeps showing underwear cuddly time when they did it just right in ME1. Adults play their games too.

If they can't do them right, why do them in the first place? If they don't have the guts to pull of a well made sex scene like they did it ME1, why not just have Shep and his LI kiss each other and leave it at that?turian councilor Knockout wrote...
I Know that but people really take this too serious, why does "sex scenes" really matter it's not like you play for that reason so take what you get.The PLC wrote...

I agree, it was fine in ME1, but that dry-humping in ME2 (and the Dragon Age games) is ridiculous. If you don't want to show naked boobs (which is fine), at least be a little creative and use different camera angles... you know, like you did in ME1.

I don't care if its PG-13 or not. I care about the context in which its used in.

BSNers just need to learn to use websites for their "material" not Bioware games, lots more content on the internet.

ME1 did do a great job with this issue.

Yes, we all know how well THAT turned out...
It seems like BioWare simply CAN'T. WIN. Everything is problematic to BSNers.

There is no reason for them to be Nc-17, or whats the highest rating you silly Amerikans use?
This is your argument? Backed by 'there is no reason.' That's right up there with 'won't someone think of the children?' and, 'it's just not appropriate.'
The way Bioware listens to the community we'll be getting G rated content before long.
Why should it have more realistic sex scenes? I don't get my kicks from video games. It's no argument, I'm just saying they are good enough for what they are.

They aren't good enough because they aren't convincing. It's not about getting kicks - that is the immature take, actually. It's all about context. They can't have Miranda prancing around in high heels and a skin suit and then backout when it comes to the sex scenes. I can't tell you how thoroughly American ( and quite frankly repressed ) this type of mentality is.

It's still enough for me to see that they are having some sex there.
I get the fact that you want to see bit more, but I'm just expressing my opinion here. Please don't take it like I am trying to say universal truth.
They work for me for what they are.

I love the Witcher and the second one. The second one to me is way better and I"m quite happy that Triss and Geralt are together despite Geralt messing around with other women if you have him do that. The sex scenes from the witcher especially the second one is the kind of sex scenes I wouldn't mind seeing in any of the Mass Effect series

I figured the least they could do is show some ass since games like Heavy Rain have boobs and LA Noire and the Witcher 2 feature full frontal female nudity.
how come fox news didn't go crazy over these games?
Can't say anything about the others (didn't play them), but the only full nudity in LA Noire involves dead women. When brought into this particular topic, it becomes rather more *squick* than it already was...
And the Fox News story was cleary the result of a reporter stupidly acting on rumors without bothering to properly research the subject. I would imagine that after that little fiasco, reporters at Fox are being a bit more careful when mainstream (or nearly mainstream) games are accused of being "sex simulators".
As for me, my favorite scene so far is the one between the protagonist and Isabella in DA2. No clothes off (aside from Isabella's usual "no pants" state), just the two jumping into bed. Sex scenes in a Bioware game usually are there just to indicate that a relationship has been consummated (notable exception - one of Jack's scenes). Showing skin doesn't particularly add to or take away from that. In fact, showing too much threatens to detract from that if the writer isn't careful. It can be done properly. But it's all to easy to screw it up.
DA1's sex scenes didn't work because it looked like the underwear was still on even when it should have been off. If the scene had cut out right after the start instead of continuing on for two or three more animated sequences with the participants still in their underwear, then it would have been much more effective, and people wouldn't complain about them nearly as much as they do.
