i personally love the default femshep im going to use her face over the one i created.
Is it just me or does default female Shepard in ME3 looks like a man with long hair and make up?

If they had actually put some effort into it, it probably could have looked fairly close.Fredvdp wrote...
The problem is that she doesn't look like the default Femshep from the box art that people voted for. I was disappointed with this myself.Jarrett Lee wrote...
I think she looks great, I was surprised by reactions like his one.

I do like her look, but I agree, she looks way too cartoony compared to the other characters.

Gotta say, for all the redesign that went into her, i'm not overly impressed. Much prefereeed the default ME1/ME2 femshep.

Beauty is subjective, but I rather like her.
I've never played a female Shepard before, and she has motivated me to try one. After my initial playthrough.

I think she looks really good. I'll agree that she doesn't look exactly like the art she's based on, but I'm still impressed. It's also nice that there's a high-quality iconic representation for femshep that cannot be replicated with the face generator. That's a pretty big deal imo.

I also think default FemShep looks cartoony. She looks really strange when compared to Ashley-not to say she's supposed to look anything like her, but the hi-res sets her apart. Ash's got that nice soft glow to her.

I don't agree with the op, but the face is nothing at all similar to the promo material posters. On those she looks absolutely awesome. Particularly in the fanart in double02's sig. The face in the game isn't bad per se, they just didn't get it as close to the promo pics as Sheploo is.

graphics wise, and even eye design wise I agree. Overall she looks fine, though I like some of my custom ones better. Why is it still that default manShep has the highest resolution of anybody?Dylia wrote...

I don't think she looks bad, but she doesn't really fit in with Mass Effect. To me, she looks like a character that belongs in Dragon Age 2.

Like all Shepards, I think she'll have her moments where she'll look flat out wierd... but it won't be all the time.

Mouth: Strangely pursed lips. Laugh lines way outside where they should be
Eyes: Freaky, large, and vacant-looking.
Hair: Messy in the front, super-tidy in the back.
They should just get a real-life model and scan them in next time.

No, it's not just you.
It's not even her face, since female Shep faces have all looked horrible in all three games. It's the skeleton they used for her and her animations.
I just replayed Mass Effect 1 this past week. What a huge difference between her skeleton in that game and her skeleton in the Mass Effect 3 demo. She starts the series off with a normal posture, slightly slouched but with her arms and legs close to her body. However, it's like they didn't bother to make a female skeleton this time around, so now she's got her arms hulking out like a gorilla and her legs move like she's a marine on steroids.
Bioware is certainly no stranger to not bothering to implement a female skeleton (DA:O), but seeing as they managed to do so for DA2, despite its incredibly fast development time, it is rather disappointing they seemed to go the opposite here in ME3.

I thought she looked really great up until I started playing the demo and saw her speak. It looked terrible.
