Hi,
I am on the Urn of Ashes about to face the gauntlet and there is this massive dragon which try through I might I cannot defeat. If I chose to ignore it and just run through to the gauntlet will I have to face it again on my way out?? I am playing with Alastair, Dog, and Leliana and they just get picked up in his teeth and shaken to death. Not a nice way to go....
Appreciate any assistance!
BTW I am a mage with cone of cold which dragon just shakes off.
Many thanks:crying:

Queen Dragon.
And no, you need to sound the horn.

You can do the urn quest and come back later to kill it if you want, it will not attack you if you choose to ignore it

It's neither a King or a Queen Dragon. Yes, it's female, but it's known as a High Dragon.
Unless this is a translation issue.
But yes, come back later. It's an optional boss.

If you're having trouble on a mage PC, then I recommend coming back later when you're a higher level if you're not too high.

Well i realise you maybe need 2 more levels to get this spell. But casting forcefield on the tank while he hold agro with treaten and other taunts is very helpfull sometimes (remember to use taunts abilities before hitting tank with forcefield)
I also think i read somewhere if you forcefield dragon while he have your npc's in its mouth it drops em. But i have never testet that myself tho.
You dont have to fight the dragon really , it is a optional fight. It does however have a great deal of items on its body . But nothing you cant replace with better gear from other locations.
It also depence what difficulty level you are playing on with the tactics sometimes i think personally.
I normal keep one tank on dragon , then i have rest of party using ranged weapons.
I also allways choose the Hex magic that make all hits fail except from critiicals to cast on monster with my mage. Helps a great deal that the dragon cant hit anything
But i realise this will make you need to gain 3 level to get this spell if you dont have anything in hex spells before killing dragon
Casting the Hex that make all hit that hit the cursed target crit is also very usefull for taking down a enemy faster.
And there is the Hex that makes targets resist lower , combined with clone of cold combo.
Yes i must admit i really use the Hex line of spells alot. Its very nice for disabling stuff and make em suffer.
