I was kind of on the fence about it in ME2. Now that I have upgraded it, its ok. Better with the Mattock, though...

Mattock is also bad. Use Avenger if you absolutely must use AR

I love manual fire. You're crazy. =|

I really don't understand all the people that praise the Revenant for its "suppressive" ability. First of all, enemies take cover regardless. Even if such a suppressive state exists for the enemy AI, why would you want them to take cover all the time in the first place? I'd rather they openly charge me so I can mow them down with more efficiency.

Secondly, theres no "aggro" mechanic. Enemies will shoot whoever is closest or out of cover first. You can hide behind cover all day with the Rev and nobody will shoot you any more or less than your buddy next to you thats constantly popping out of cover to shoot.

Agreed. Keeping two three soldiers busy in low damage suppressive fire is pointless when you can kill double the numbers in same time with a different weapon.

Widow 1 as well as Claymore 1 are better than X version of their counter parts but revenant isn't
that good compared to Avenger X. Here are two videos Avenger X and Revenant IV with Stability Upgrade V and Clip SIze V mods.

Avenger

Revenant

With Clip Size V mod 54 Accurate Bullets of Avenger are better than 100+ inaccurate bullets. Both videos were without Asault Rifle Damage and AP or other Ammor and were made on silver difficulty.

From what it looks like the Avenger is good against Cerberus troops and other enemies you can get by with headshots with.  The Revenant is better for taking out stuff that you can't headshot to death (like atlas mechs or turrets) or other types of enemies that like to get close (like husks for example).

Yes Avenger with high level mods can score a lot more headshots at medium to long range compared to revenant. But for dealing enemies that get close by an assault rifle with a very large clip size isn't a good option. You have Shotguns for that. Turrets, Guaridans and Atlas can be taken out with AP Ammo on Avenger quite easily. With AP Ammo II and Assault Rifle Damage Boost II I can take out three guardians in single clip (54 bullets with Clip Size V).

If revenant get it's bullet spread reduced and damage increased only then it will be a viable Assault Rifle. Right now it has medicore performance and has a lot of weight that increase cooldowns a lot.

AR is fine for melee krogan in close combat. The melee is fast and efficient. Shotgun damage doesn't make a difference and falls off at medium range

When I tried the Revenant I spent over ten seconds just trying to kill one basic trooper before getting killed.

If I'm going to wait ages for cooldowns it better be with a decent weapon.

IMO, this is what it should be.

I-want-this-right-now whiners can say what they want, having items like Revenant X far out of reach is a great thing. Keeps things fresh and gives you a ton of room for acquiring better goods, whether you agree or not.

Makes everything that much more unique.

quote makes no sense.

Many weapons and upgrades are out of reach for a long time (on other MP games) the only difference is you have an idea on how your progress towards unlocks are going in in those games unlike in ME3 and lost planet 2 where you just throw your lot into a RNG then hope for the best, and keep doing it like some gambling addicted ****.

Youre right that anyone can agree or not...because your opinion isnt fact. You think it makes the game fresh, better, and gives room with unlocks. I think its an artifical way to lengthen the experience, and a cheap lazy ploy that overall cheapens the weight of unlocks(how can you feel accomplished for getting something you didnt earn?), whether you agree or not.

I'll choose revenant I over avenger X (both with stability and accuraycy mods) any day of the week. Revenant is just brutal in it's stagger and damage potential.

anyone who sayds it sucks does NOT know how to use it. and that's a fact, not an opinion.

I'm really hoping the revenant get a damage buff. Sure you can upgrade it,but you can apply those same upgrades to other ARs which start out better.
