No problem. Mine were unfortunately corrupted. This was due to me using the Cloud as a bridge to move my files from an old Xbox to a new Xbox, if I had used a USB Memory stick it would have been fine. The key problem is using it as a transport device, but alas BioWare could not have been aware that Microsoft were going to implement Cloud services and that it would corrupt the Hidden/Import Saves/Markers. However I have solved my issue and I am now trying to solve yours as well. =)

So, I expect that I'm likely to be burned by this issue... Here's my scenario:

Played on Original XBox 360, possibly some on a secondary XBox using Memory Card:
Played a Paragon playthough to completion but no DLC from 1-26/2010-2/3/2010.
Started a Renegade playthrough, but only got through a few of the missions. 2/3/2010-2/8/2010.
Moved saves to the cloud 11/??/2011 (was in new dashboard preview)

Original XBox Dies, All subsequent playing was split between 2 different consoles with Cloud Saves used to sync between machines:
Resumed and finished Renegade playthough, including all DLC 2/12/2012-3/3/2012
Played through all DLC on my Paragon playthrough 3/1/2012-3/3/2012
Arrival was the last DLC played on both playthroughs. Both were finished on the same console using cloud saves.

By my reading of the problem, I'm just SOL. I have definitely used cloud saves and do not have access to the original console anymore, as it's now dead. It's not clear whether a fix is in the works, or whether people that used cloud saves will be left stranded. I'm hoping that since I finished Arrival relatively recently and that save hasn't had any subsequent changes that I'll be alright, but I don't know what to expect anymore.

Alright - consider me really (!) confused here, but here's my situation:

I purchased a new Xbox 360 (Slim), transferred all ME1 and ME2 files I had (except for the ME2 save) via USB to the new Xbox360, had the ME2 save in the cloud the entire time, but I'm still having this "Mass Effect 2 Importer" savegame on my HDD containing the Shepard from ME1 (I think?).

As I've formatted the original Xbox' hard drive before selling it, I have no access to the original files. So do I need to replay ME2 now or will the save work? Will it work if I load the ME2 save from the cloud and create a new savegame from within ME2 on the hard drive?

Sorry if this is way off course here, but I'm a little confused by some of the last posts. DarkWolf, are you saying that if we started up ME2, imported an ME1 save to start a new character, and proceeded to save to the cloud, that also destroys the ME1 import save as well?

The ME1 import save was destroyed due to moving it across the cloud. If I am correct this what happens to the ME2 saves as well, even though they don't have a hidden save they do create an import marker which is destroyed during the cloud moving process. Saving to the cloud should be fine, as long as the hidden/import saves/markers are on a actual hard-drive.

So I should have no problem as my ME1 saves were never moved from the the memory unit they were initially created on, right?

I really think save importing is part of what makes ME such an amazing experience, but there are so many issues with a system like that unless you're a person who may not mind going through 70+ hours of play again...

Is there any quick way to tell if our me2 files are corrupted for me3? I moved my files to the cloud before all of this went down. Unfortunately I cant remember if I qmoved the files to the cloud before or after I got my new Xbox.

I have all my characters with a save before I head to the collector base. Would that be helpful in case the files are corrupted?

Here is my situation...I got a new Xbox and moved my ME1 and ME2 saves via USB to my new Xbox. I finished a previous save on ME2 and uploaded it to the cloud then after seeing the problems downloaded them back to my new Xbox. Luckily I have saves prior to the collector base. I beat the collector base and finished the game and it does allow me to play new game + on me 2. In addition I downloaded my ME1 save from the cloud and beat the game and ME2 allows it to be imported. My question is will I be good to go since ME 2 allows new game + or will I need to play through ME 2 again using my imported save from ME1?
