I don't understand at all, why a multiplattform game has no pad support.
Anyway @ Bioware: no gamepad support = no Mass Effect 3 and = no Origin, this is simple and needs no more discussion.
It's only bad for me, that i have bought and installed a software without any value , that i have to uninstall now.

I think a gamepad would be handy for people who connect their PC to a TV with HDMI so they can play from a couch and don't have to look at the horrible textures from up close.jimmyw404 wrote...
Do you have a reason for not using mouse/kb? Considering they nerfed the mobs in the console version because gamepads suck for MAss Effect I don't know why you'd want to use a gamepad unless you were disabled in some way.

2: Keyboard and mouse are controllers for software like Excel.
3: I'm not disabled and have good reactions with pad.
4: I love a rumbling pad.
5. Keyboard and mouse steals immersion.
Yes, even on XBox you don't have a excellent pad support and ME 2 was a real disaster, where in fact the controls made the insane difficulty. But anyway, i don't play games with controllers for Excel. Even indie-developers and minor labels like Volition can add pad support, Bulletstorm, FEAR, Crysis 2, Fallout and Skyrim you can play like a charm with pad. Why the hell, Bioware can't add pad support?

The amount of people with a rig set up powerful enough to play with no lag on that big a resolution is slim though. So for the majority of people it's simply a case of wanting a PC to be a like a console with better graphics instead of adopting the traditional approach of PC gaming. There will be a mod for it eventually like with the last two games because some people refuse to use a keyboard and mouse no matter what.
Not sure what you're talking about, big TVs don't have that high of a resolution. The monitor I bought 6 years ago is higher than the 1080p resolutino TVs most people have. And the cost of higher resolution isn't that much. Post-processing is the real drag.

I think it's funny that FPS have been so dumbed down that intelligent people could come up with that opinion. There's a reason why the enemies on consoles have been nerfed and it's not because keyboard/mouse is more suited to spreadsheets than fps games.

PC players maybe don't know the immersion of a rumbling pad on the collector platforms, but this is big cinema and more scary than any horror game. And i don't care about my reactions with pad, i can play the most shooters on insane and if i can, i remove all targeting help, in menus or with mods.

I was using an ME2 mod last night to get the controller working so someone will figure a way with ME3. Try Pinnacle profiler. It has a free trial.

I can't understand, why this people are economizing on things, that allready exists in the engine. But Bioware is known, that the have no sense for what players want.
I don't care about, if i need 0.3 s more time for a head shot, for me it's simply more immersive. And i think, that ME with gamepad is less casual, than play it with mouse and keyboard, because anybody can make head shots simply pointing to a head.

There is this device called a home theater PC. It allows you to enjoy Skyrim on a 50" HDTV in 1080p with high resolution textures at 60 fps from the comfort of your couch. This might not appeal to someone living with their parents but for adults that still enjoy gaming it is wonderful technology.

I connect my PC to my TV for certain games (mainly third person where mouse aiming is not essential). By using the PC I get much improved loading times and better graphics than I would if I used a console.
Bioware spent three months working on day one dlc - it's a shame the time wasn't spent on more important features for PC gamers such as gamepad support and a fov slider.

As for more immersion with a gamepad, try spending a few hours moving your eyes around as if they were being controlled by a joystick. I think you'll find it as frustrating as you would find using a gamepad on an oldschool FPS that wasn't dumbed down for gamepads.

If you plug in your gamepad and it works, enjoy, but BW isn't supporting it nor adding support for it.
Search around for the 10 billion other threads on it for the official BW posts on it.

But if you get something like logitech's gamepad, you can use their directinput software to use a controller. With the game. I think there's a bunch of 3rd party apps floating around out there that do the same thing.
I like controllers better with the PC too. A lot is because i'm left handed and its awkward to use a keyboard/mouse when all the keyboard controls are designed for right-handed people.
