At this point, not sure if serious or pro-Cerberus bait.

There's no practical difference.

Also I think it is a valid question. Why is Cerberus not standing with the rest of the galaxy? I mean of all people they should know what they are up against and how can they hope to pull it off on their own? They couldn't even deal with Collectors without Shepard and his/her crew. Either they went [curseword] megalomaniacs or I don't know.

Or they've just been very poorly written into a villain role. Their goal in ME3 could more easily be reached by standing with the rest of the galaxy right up until the very end. There is absolutely no reason or benefit to doing what they're doing in ME3 (fighting against everyone else).

what about the nuclear bombs?

What about them, I already said what they did was out of ignorance, I am also willing to add stupidity, they sent the probes not knowing who would find them, the nukes were "supposed" to be a safeguard, like I said, stupid.

Not that it makes any difference when you compare any other music to System of a Down which is superior to anything.

Fair enough. Though they could've put some self-destruction program if they were ever found by someone, and not a nuclear bomb. This seems too much stupid.

The nukes were a good idea at the time.

However don't pretend that the Alliance can't be outright murderous.

The Alliance suppored a war lord, giving him funding and weapons. When he got too greedy they had him murdered under the guise of a diplomatic meeting.

When a biotic chairman was kidnapped by terrorists the Alliance stressed that it was more important to send a message than to rescue the chairman.

When the Alliance feared a Council Spectre uncovering their illegal A.I. research, they encouraged a young Captain Anderson to murder him.

That's exactly what they did, silly. That was the point. The turians or anyone else find the probe and it blows up so that they can't study Alliance technology.

For whatever reason, the self-destruct failed to go off when that loony pirate found it.

Not an angry Cerberus, just a sharp critic and someone with the good sense to recognize bad writing.

A self-destruction program doesn't necessarily have to be a nuclear bomb.

So you wouldn't mind if they were stupid as long as they are the antagonists? Seriously, this is not about 'who wins'. I'd really hate if the trilogy ends with a story that wouldn't impress a 5 year old. I am pro alliance paragon, but I hope there is a good explaination for everything.

It does if you are fighting for the very survival of your species against a hostile and totally unknown alien species. With any luck the aliens find the probe, take it onboard a ship or to a lab and then it goes off wiping them out. It's a booby trap and safety-measure.

I have a feeling that TIM is indoctrinated. Look at his eyes, he is probably sitting inside a reaper or next to one for all we know.

I definitely agree with Saph on one thing, cerburus being the enemy should have been left till near story end, making them the enemy against their own kind from the beginning totally obliterates what cerburus "claims" they stood for.

He probably gets indoctrinated at some point in ME3. Notice when Shepard questioned the Cerberus soldier in the demo? It was as if the he was going to say something before he died. Reminded me of Saren somehow. I think he was indoctrinated at this point. And who knows how many in Cerberus are.

I'm not gonna ruin the ending of ME2, but I'm going with the idea that pretty much everyone told TIM to 'go rub salt' at the end of that game...

Maybe the powerful guy who spent billions of credits on resurrecting your charred and freeze dried butt might be feeling just a touch vindictive about laying down all that cash only to be (metaphorically) flipped off.

Maybe now he wants to see you fail and have his Cerberus troops single handedly save the day for their Glorious Leader.

It's ok to comment on the writing and speculate whether or not you view it as good or bad. But when you try to elevate yourself by statements of 'I have good sense', you are implying that people who disagree with you don't - which makes it a thinly veiled insult.

'Good/Bad' writing is subjective. It's my opinion that Twilight and Harry Potter had terrible writing, but just because I think that does not make me better or having more 'sense' than those who enjoy those.

Please check the ego.

Humanity was fighting for survival? Didn't the Alliance send the probles before the FCW?

This.

It's not hard to have happen, either.  Just come into contact with a Reaper artifact frequently enough, and you'll get corrupted by it.  Everyone always thinks that *they* have a strong enough will to resist (see Saren for an example), but the indoctrination creeps up and gets them anyway.

Cerberus has always been rather reckless in its pursuit of information and technology, and it seems likely that at some point TIM exposed himself to a little too much Reaper technology for a little too long.  He probably still believes that he's resisting it, much like Saren thought he was resisting it, but TIM's probably now being subtly influenced by the Reapers.  And that influence is causing him to disrupt the united front that is going to be needed to stop the Reapers.  TIM, of course, merely believes that he's setting things up so that humanity - under the guidance of Cerberus, of course - can swoop in after the Reapers are defeated and run the galaxy.

Yeah, and if TIM is such an idiot how did he survive this long? Explain that one to me.

Nevermind. I thought You said something about T.I.M's Indoctrination began since ME2. I think it happened after ME2. I saw another comment of yours which you described the matter correctly.

Also it is difficult to completely agree with radicals; like I'm partially agree with 3rd reich!
