Or Liara lives on for a 1000 years never having kids. Where are the Asaris in the colony???? Thats right Liara never had kids as no one can satisfy her obsession for Shepard.

Oh, look. Third cousins will be able to produce far more inbred offspring than other couples, compounding the problem at a greater rate! How sweet, we can hasten their collective doom faster and involve even more innocent lives in this horrific fate! Thank you Bioware!

Re: Liara: Well, being Asari, they're all pretty much built around this.  I'm sure in about 1000 years it will be a colony of nothing more than Liara's progeny as disease and genetic disorders will have helped lead to the crippling and then extermination of what inbred humans remain.  Or maybe the asari will look upon these inbred humans with pity and keep them as sickly pets or slaves or something.  I'm sure a whole interesting mythology can spring up.

Wait, wait, maybe they'll release a DLC that'll allow us to upgrade the Normandy so it can survive poor writing decisions.

They do not need to write a script.
- They do not need to write a script.
They will just destroy things and maroon the survivors on Planet Inbreed.

They can go about their business.

Mind tricks don't work on me, only DLC!

A side note, as suggested by another forumgoer: If the Normandy had crash-landed on earth, I would bet much of the rage stemming from the endings would be abated.

funny thing is I actually googled "inbreeding" and read the entire page on wiki before you made this thread. I don't know why the writers would force us to learn something like this lol :P

interesting indeed...

...I stared at this for a moment before bursting out laughing and the ludicrousness of these statements.  Inbreeding, especially when dealing with such a small genetic [puddle], will result in severe inbreeding depression.  Inbreeding depression in humans can produce offspring with physical deformities, severe mental retardation, infertility, and a host of genetic disorders.  This becomes further compounded by further generations being further inbred.  There is a social stigma for a reason and it is well-deserved.  Frankly the Normandy crew did not deserve this fate.  Further, their progeny certainly do not deserve the fate hoisted upon them by their parents, and I find these progeny to be the greatest victims of this horrific set of circumstances.

Yeah, it is.  Just because third cousins may produce inbred offspring at a heightened rate in comparison, compounding the problem even more quickly, is not a good thing.

Some people are happy with having a chance to produce prodigies and geniuse.

Some people will have two kids one a genius and the other a retard. They will take care of the genius and ignore the retard.

Inbreeding has an equal chance of producing prodigies and deformed individual.

It all depends on the genelogy of the parent. FAR more than the way the child is concieved.

A child of two talented relatives will have a higher chance of producing an even more talented child.

A child of two defective relatives will have a higher chance of producing an even more defective child.

Inbreeding works both ways.

Nothing in this world has proven to me that we as a spieces are any more functional than we were in the Dark Ages.

Not that I condone Imbreeding. Just that I feel we're not any less dysfunctional for the lack of it. Everything from birth defects to soceital issues still exist in droves.

Again, I'll state that we don't know the full crew compliment of the Normandy - that Normandy was alone in crashing there, or if the cutscene even features the decendants of the Normandy crew. There's just not enough info here - something Bioware should correct.
