Asari take
no genetic material from their partners. They only use a partner to help randomize DNA, that's all, and they don't even technically need a partner to do this. So no, Aethyta is NOT half-krogan or even partially krogan. She is 100% asari.

...I stared at this for a moment before bursting out laughing and the ludicrousness of these statements. Inbreeding, especially when dealing with such a small genetic [puddle], will result in severe inbreeding depression. Inbreeding depression in humans can produce offspring with physical deformities, severe mental retardation, infertility, and a host of genetic disorders.
You people watch too much Hollywood. All the above can and does happen even without inbreeding, unfortunately. But even with todays medicine every cripple who can barely walk will survive. Inbreeding is an irrelevant factor in our world, its a leftover from stoneage, designed to encourage spreading genes for more diversity, not for more health. Thats a difference. And in Mass Effect you have Miranda, a completely artificially created human out of her father, you cant go less diversification than that, yet she is gorgeous and perfectly healthy, so think where the error in your logic is. Humans are a incredibly homogeneous species anyways, we have very little diversity compared to animals, so crossbreeding works. Btw "1 in every 200 men are direct descendants of Genghis Kahn". That guy surely did not waste time. And asian population still exists? Heresy.
*facepalm* Of course genetic mutations occur; no one disputes that. The point with inbreeding is that these negative mutations are compounded and passed down the line, resulting in an increase in severity/occurence. For the stranded Normandy crew, outcrossing is an impossibility and their small-numbered crew means they cannot sustain healthy genetic diversity. Therefore, their fate is a worst-case-scenario paired with the uncertainties inherent in being a small founding colony left to the elements and further compounded by them being stranded in a completely alien environment. They are not on earth; the videos make that more than clear enough.

Really!
I refuse to let Ash become a breeding machine for the Normandy crew.
Better to let her die on Virmire then to suffer that fate.
So half the crew will sleep with Ash but Shep will be forever alone
I love you Bioware
You could just take her with you on the final mission.
I don't recommend that. Anyone you take with you for the final mission "magically transports" onto the Normandy in the end. I wish I was kidding. The only way to keep her from ultimately suffering this fate is to ensure she joins up with Hackett and the fleet.
