In Arrival, the destruction of a relay caused an explosion large enough to engulf the entire system-- so does every system with a relay also kick it in the Destroy ending?

No. The Relays stop working (As their power is drained from the Space Magic).

Nope, they all explode violently.

Then how come Earth is still there (if you got alot of War Assets)?

Its not the same kind of explosion as in Bahak system. It doesnt destroy any planets. It just breaks the mass relays into pieces.

So they just fall apart then?

Yes.

So why are people saying that the Relays "explode" then? makes no sence.

Not all explosions are the same. It's not a critical mass style explosion. It's just big enough to destroy the relay after transmitting the pulse along the network.

They don't explode at all in Control.

For every ending, all relays get turned into space dust. However, if you choose Control, the Citadel is safe, and is only shown to be closing up as the Reapers pack up and say goodbye to Earth

Think about the Destroy ending as a controlled demolition; yes its destroyed but in such an efficient way (ie Space Magic ftw) that nearby planets are not affected.

Arrival was with the brute force of an asteroid, not surprising of the huge explosion.

I've heard a rumor that Shepard can get back to Earth at the end of the game if Destroy is chosen; is that true?

I have a question about the Control endings ...

I was under the impression (that along with the space magic and explosions in the other two), you still effectively destroy the reapers. But then I read yesterday that the reapers won't be entirely gone and will still be able to resume the cycle in 50,000 years, as in ... you only beat them temporarily? I apologize if this is beating a dead horse over the head, but would someone mind clarifying for me please?

I thought that Shepard becomes a synthetic and controls the Reapers from the Citadel.

Yes it is. But only with high war assets score.

Where did this rumor come from? Even if the crew can't get back this somewhat better.
