i Got DirectX Error and can't install the game . this is Origin pre-load
I try install the directX that come with the game and failed got an error. Is there any directx  with the same version as this game for download  and which version of this game use??
 i Try download direct 9.c but it said the one i have is already newer version.

I found a fix for this.
So exactly as I say and it should work fine.

First, Go to the folder where Mass Effect 3 is downloaded. (for me that's D:/Games/Mass Effect 3)
In that folder, open the map "_Installer" then "directx" then "redist"
(so I'm at D:\\Games\\Mass Effect 3\\__Installer\\directx\\redist)
In this folder you'll find DXSETUP.exe, DSETUP.dll dsetup32.dll and a whole bunch of .cap files.

Now, select ALL the .cap files and delete them.
So now you should only have 3 files in this folder.

Now you can install Mass Effect 3.
You might get an error somewhere along the line but for me it installed fine and I'm ready for launch ;-)

They're listed as rar files in Win 7, but, indeed, deleting them all worked for me as well. Thanks!

Ah i just updated my Nvidia drivers and now it works.

Confirmed. Just delete the other cab files inside the redist folder inside Installer and it should be fixed.

I got a "DirectX error" the first time i tried to install it
But the second time i tried it, it worked.
I didn't delete any files.
I bought the Deluxe Edition.

I bought the Collector's Edition and encountered this error.

To fix it: 

• Navigate to the C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games\\Mass Effect 3\\__Installer\\directx\\redist folder
• Delete the entire contents of this folder (edit: But not the folder itself. While in the folder press Ctrl-A to select all the files in it, then hit delete)
• download the DirectX Redistributable from Microsoft.com
• Run the reditributable .exe file and tell it to place the extracted files in C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games\\Mass Effect 3\\__Installer\\directx\\redist
• Restart the Installation.

Got it going this way.

FWIW, I had this error on Collector's Edition (PC). Just exiting Origin and restarting was sufficient to fix it.

EDIT:
didn't bother downloading the thing. just deleted the CABs
now it's installing without ****ing anymore!
