Alright so the Bioware aproach is to appease the fans. Thats good and all,

The new romance options, tthe same gender ones i understand is to appease lots the fans, which im cool with, as long as it is not forced upon us, Ex. Anders from DA2.

But after playing the Multiplayer, I've noticed that some of the enemies will say things like 'Goddammit', which to me and i'm sure lots of people find it offensive.

I know someone can say 'Well killing is against your belief's too. So play something else'. But of course you can't take that out of ME, cause it would be a totally different game.

Things like some 1-liner phrases can be changed, and if not in ME3, hopefully in future games. I'm just another fan who wants to continue to play Bioware games without having to listen to these lines.

Should they say "Oh, tiddlywinks!" instead?

How is "goddamnint" offensive? If you got shot, I'm sure the first thing you'll be saying won't be "*Gets hit* Oh sassafrass, sassafrass, sassafrass". Because I know the first thing I would be saying is "Oh, ****! ****! Goddamnit!"

I'd expect him to sound like Ned Flanders.

It'd be nice to make friendly gestures towards people without them getting it in their heads that you want to boink them -

But I'm guessing women have been making that request of men for years.

I'm skeptical about the validity of this thread, but a level of cussing adds realism. Particularly a commonly used and not particularly explicit example like Goddammit.

i think phrases like "goddamnit" are very common in todays society, its in TV shows, movies, books. whatever. honestly its not a big deal, theyre not screaming profanities about god and religion. (which i would totally be fine with)

Of course, but people like the OP (and some minorities) need to realize that words only have the power you give to them. The OP sees the word as offensive, for his own reasons, but that does not mean the game should be catered to his sensibilities. A bit of minor swearing maintains a sense of realism; I know I'd probably exclaim worse things if I got shot.

It would be understandable if ME was an Everyone or Teen game, but it is a Mature game. If you're offended by a word [that is not a slur of some sort] then that is your problem, not the game's.

Cerberus grunts should shout "TIMdamnit!" when they're hit.

Playing devil's advocate to those with the realism argument:

Wouldn't romance options gain some realism by being either homosexual or heterosexual and not all being bisexual?

"Goddamnit" is offensive to some people. You actually can't say it on TV most of the time. Ever notice how when you see a movie that's on tv the character go "[...] damn it!". They cut the "god" part of it. Personally I don't care since I'm not a theist but I recognize that this is an offensive phrase for some. That being said I think Bioware should keep the line in there. This is an M rated game after all.
