How is "goddamnint" offensive? If you got shot, I'm sure the first thing you'll be saying won't be "*Gets hit* Oh sassafrass, sassafrass, sassafrass". Because I know the first thing I would be saying is "Oh, ****! ****! Goddamnit!"
Luckily I've never been shot before but I've been unfortunate enough to recieve shrapnel on more than one occasion and the last thing I did was curse God, I was actually more thankful it wasnt worse, but that's just how I handled it. Cursing isn't something that offends me, I've cursed plenty in the past but it's something I strive not to do now, I've noticed the less of it I hear the less I catch myself nearly dropping f-bombs.
Games of the past had plenty of gore/blood and language filters and custom keymapping but those are features that would allow the consumer to have a custom experience, but customization is clearly unreasonable to some.
BioWare can only do so much. When you have a game that is trying to appease the roleplayers and the shooters it's hard to cover every body else: those two are big enough already without trying to get at eachother's throat.
The point is if BioWare is making a game, which is rated mature and has some pretty mature themes as well as lots of violence, the last thing BioWare expects is for their customers to find the language used offensive. And though I respect your faith in God, the only thing I can say is that your overreacting to a word that is used every day.
When people say 'Goddamnit' it's pretty much lost it's meaning. No one is saying it because they wish to curse God; they say it because of the same reason people usually swear.
I'd say not to take it so seriously. Besides the NPCs wouldn't be as immersive or real if you could suddenly make them speak like a character from the Disney Channle xD
"Gosh Darn it Shepard!" would sound a little bit silly don't you think?
