Things like some 1-liner phrases can be changed, and if not in ME3, hopefully in future games. I'm just another fan who wants to continue to play Bioware games without having to listen to these lines.

If I started a thread saying that as an atheist I want all references to religion removed because they offend me, I wouldnt get any respect.

OP wants negative references to god removed, he doesnt get respect.

Consider I just flipped a coin, billy believes it turned up heads, so we will call billy a headsiest, now jimmy on the other hand doesn't believe it turned up heads, so we call him an a-headsiest. Now, you don't give a damn one way or the other, but you still either believe it turned out heads or you don't, "I don't care" isn't a possible answer, and it isn't logical. You either believe something, or you don't. Arguably, if you don't care, you obviously can't believe it.

People swear you just tune it out. If you think about it there are tons of more offensive things that can be said the npcs aren't being sailors or racist here and if you get on MP and someone keeps ranting like one drop out.

I was on MP and one of the guys on there was sooo inspiring because he felt jilted that no one saved his ass not only was he in direct line of fire but everyone was kind of busy saving themselves at that point. He kept calling everyone idiots acting like he's the most important one in the group and was then wondering why our team unity was going down hill needless to say after the round was up he didn't have a team. Language can hurt games but its easy to ignore npcs who're preprogrammed to say such.

As far as fan appeasement is bad it all depends on who you talk to those who knew or actively participated in making a change or appeasement occur will of course say its great those who actively apposed the change will say its bad.

You have to ask really the people who took no part in it who never knew about the efforts to get it in or fight it off as to weather or not they think the appeasement in question really feel like it was or was not.

I think them making brand new characters bi is fine but the fact we have like 3 - 6 makes it a bit annoying and unrealistic to have so many on the same ship but so long as they don't change established past LIs to the bi side its an appeasement that can work. I know I'll just have to listen close and check out the social cues on all new characters so they don't get confused with my para want to be friends attitude sense BW has established nice = sexual interest which isn't the case most of the time.

Just because respect wouldnt be shown for the example you gave(not to say its right, I'd respect those concerns) doesnt mean thats the way it should automatically be for everything else. 

And no I wasnt expecting complete respect from BSN(or pretty much anywhere on the 'net) but it couldnt hurt for some ppl to put a decent comment for once, or at least understand where the OP is coming from.

Where is he coming from? He got offended. So what? Acting nice isn't going to help him. If anything, that just enables him to act like being offended is the worst thing in the world. Little kid in Africa gets shot at by Warlords, has not eaten in months and smells like an elephants rear end because he has no useable water within a thousand miles, but hey at least he's not offended.

Really??  you are going to serously ask them to tone down the language in MASS EFFECT?  for all the hype about the games "sex" other "mature" content, Mass Effect is practically family friendly compared to other popular titles like Dead Space, Gears of War...even Fallout 3 had more gore and rough language then Mass Effect. 

I am not trying to belittle the OP, but if the amount of bad language in Mass Effect is an issue for you...maybe it just isn't intended for you.  Some titles do have a filter setting for REALLY potentially offensive material.  My mom really liked the Godfather but thought there was too much violence.   So I showed her the kitchen scene from Sybil...you know what her solution was?  Don't watch stuff that's going to give you nightmares.  AND if it isn't rated PG don't risk it.  Just sayin'

When do they say 'Goddammit?' I've never heard that in any of my multiplayer runs. They do sometimes (quite often, actually) say 'Daymmmitttt!' if you slot one of their mates, but there's no mention of God anywhere in there.
