Have you tried hitting him until his HP runs out? :D

Can be a tough fight but it's not impossible. Winter's Grasp and Lightning alot, keep Alistair and Sten in his face, maybe throw a Forcefield over the Revenant's target at least once to give yourself an edge and buy some free asswhoopin' time. YMMV.

Reduce its health to zero. Reducing its health to a non-zero number is insufficient.

If you are too low, it's very tough, if not impossible. But Revenants are entirely optional. You can come back until you're more powerful.

Generally it's best to send in one person (two at most) and keep the rest at a distance. Use weapons and talents that penetrate armor.

Yeah I noticed if you read in the codex it says that the revenants armor is legedary or whatever but he kills most of my characters in 2 hits, lol

If you're lower level, you can Force Field the Revenant as soon as it comes up and drag the others away. If there's a caster in the pack, you'll have to dispatch the caster quickly and then run.

The revenant will still come after you, but you are waiting on Force Field to come back up. When it's back up, you can cast it on him again and deal with the others. After that, easy cheesy. Don't stand near him if you don't have to, and don't stand in front of him unless you're the tank.

My tactic: my char (a rogue) back stabbing the guy, two melee chars hitting upfront, and morrigan providing spell support.

Misdirection Hex and Death Hex help a lot. Ice spells help too even when he's immune to cold dmg because they freeze him and keep him from hurting you :)

Please edit the thread title - if only to remove the name of the location.

Having got that out of the way...
There are lots of suitable tactics. Probably the most important is to separate the Revenant from his supporters, divide and conquer. Fore Field is the best tool for that, but other crowd control measures can be used.
Don't be afraid to run away. It buys you time and can split up your opponents.
Telekinetic weapons can be good as a tool for armour penetration.
Cold spells and weapons are useless beyond any freezing effect that isn't resisted.

The current party I am using is an arcane warrior, sten, alistair, and wynne. I have alistair go after the revenant and keep him busy. Sten and my pc pick off the goons while wynne heals. After that I have the three melee fighters wipe out the revenant. With the arcane warrior heals + wynne's heals + some potions if needed the fights are pretty straight forward. The ability for wynne that regens mana (I think spirit vessel really helps) is great to have against these guys.

With my party of two rogues I had Alistair draw aggro while the archers attacked the revenant. If you have enough healing items and decent attack then your good to go. I have the arcane warrior use the flaming weapons and poison bombs work well against the Revenant. I think they take off this much --- health per flask.

2 melee, 1 rouge (with bow or melee if one melee is down), and a mage always works. If the revenant starts chasing my mage, I keep making my mage run until it aggros on something else. But he does have a nasty little skill that makes running hard.

I really think you guys are over reacting to the supposed "Spoiler". There are Revenants in almost every location in the game. The Brecilian Forest is open to you as soon as the World Map is open. It's not a spoiler.

That's not the point. The rules for this forum are that there are
not to be any spoilers in the topic titles or the posts themselves.

It's not a spoiler.

The title of the thread and his post reveal plot-specific information - that's the very definition of a spoiler.

Having a healer with some healing tactics specified, two tanks, and a mage that can cast Force Field are how I did it on Nightmare.

Also, I agree about the spoilers.  This thread should NOT be in the general section.  If I hadn't been to the forest yet and I read this thread I'd be irritated.  <_<

The misdirection hex was very useful in cutting down his damage. When dealing with any Revenant, I park my casters behind obstacles such that when he uses his "pull" ability on them, the stop before they reach him. Vulnerability hex and flaming weapons when you're low on mana works well and having a dedicated healer, such as Wynne, can make the fight much easier.

They do not.  He asked how to kill a revenent in the Brecilian Forest.  He didn't say where in the forest it was, what you had to do to fight it.

As the other poster said, almost every location on the map has at least one revenant battle.  What exactly did he reveal about the plot in the title other than the fact that there is a revenent fight in the forest?  Big deal.

As for the fight on hard, it's damned hard.  I'd suggest CC'ing the revenent with multiple force fields if you can and wiping out as many of the adds as you can.  And, as always when you run into a revenant, cross your fingers.

By the way, I'm not sure why they made it so that you have to register your game to post in the spoilers forum.  That seems like a good way to get people who aren't around their computer or are too lazy to do so to post spoilers here....
