Hi guys,

With the impending release of ME3, I think it's only a matter of time before I find myself going back to ME1 & ME2 to build my personal ultimate Shepard.  Before I get started on that, however, I have a few questions.

1) Does the Rich Achievement apply to all new characters in ME1 once it's unlocked?  Or do each new Shepard have to unlock it during the first playthrough?

2) Was there any benefit (aside from credits earned) to completing UNC: Valuable Minerals?  During my first & second playthroughs with my existing Shepard, I'd scan ALL minerals in the MAKO.  Seemed quite tedious and I'd rather not do it at all with any new builds.

3) Aside from picking the class, origin, and psychological profile that I pick, everything else can be changed in my second playthrough with each build, right?  So I can basically breeze through the first playthrough, and only take time to make decisions in the second playthrough, which is the one that actually carries on to ME2, right?

4) If the answer to (3) is yes, then couldn't I simply find some first-playthrough saves on the web that has the class, origin, and psychological profile that I want, and then simply start on the second playthrough right away?

Thanks guys!!!

It's tied to you Gamertag so all ME1 Profiles benefit from access to Specter Gear weapons

There's rumors of a connection with War Assests, but I'm not sure ATM.

You can make completely different decisions, if that's what you mean. And you cannot change Shepard's talent points, but you can respec the squad.

You still can find a save to use if you want, but you can also just play through ME1 once. Investing 7 to 8 points into Charm or Intimidate works well, and I can link you to a thread with build recommendations.

It's just that I find the first playthrough quite tedious since I'll just have to do it all over again on my second...

So I guess the question becomes: is it worth it to import a lvl 60 Shepard into ME2?

No. 50 is enough and isn't hard to reach if you do all/most sidequests.

Lvl 60 offers some luxuries that I like, namely, starting ME2 at lvl 5.. but I personally don't think it's that worthwhile to make your own lvl 60 character at this point, since there are so many profiles available for download that you can personalize after importing to ME2. Unless of course this is really something you really want to do. Otherwise, I'd just forfeit those 2 extra levels and just carry on with ME2. If you own all the DLC, you will be able to farm your import up to a very comfortable level before all the interesting parts start happening in ME2 regardless.

Yeah, spending 30+ hours doing a second ME1 playthrough to get a couple of extra squad points in ME2 is not worth it at all, especially since it's so easy to get to level 30 in ME2.
